Fox in a Box

Rainbow Dash and Applejack find themselves staring at Twilight Sparkle's plot. To throw, or not to throw? Screw it. Rainbow Dash throws the snowball, and the sound of it impacting Twilight's flank is sooooo worth it. Or is it?

This means war.

Again, poor wording, author, poor wording...

I was curious :rainbowhuh: Then I died :rainbowlaugh: Then satisfaction brought me back :rainbowkiss:

“Nice snowballs you’ve got there!” said Fluttershy with a pleasant grin. “But now, you’ve got to ask yourselves one question.” She was biding for time, as her teammates were coming to her aid. “Do I feel lucky?” Spike made some sort of strange noise, like the cocking of a shotgun. “Well, do ya, punks?”

OH MY GOD!:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh: I could just imagine that movie quote (won't say for other people to guess) with Fluttershy's voice. THAT WAS AMAZING! :yay::yay:

Loved this. Pinkie and Flutershy were probably my favorites here. Thanks for writing this for all of us browsing the internets to read. :pinkiehappy::yay:

1938775 Thanks!

1939549 Ha, I liked writing that part. Thanks!

1940134 But of course! Thanks for reading :ajsmug:

That was a lot of fun! Doesn't surprise me that Pinkie Pie's reality-bending abilities would come into play, and there were a lot of other moments that made me laugh (though not as hard as I would have if I wasn't bothered by the fact that they failed to invite Spike at first). I am always annoyed by fanfics in which Spike's only friends decide to have fun without Twilight's closest friend. It's great that he eventually became part of the "war," but it doesn't change the fact that he wasn't involved until someone else decided to use him as a tool and got all the credit for his ability, after which he received no dialog whatsoever.

I can imagine him laughing while trying to use his scalding fire breath to melt the snow from Twilight's cutie mark. :twilightoops:: "Gyaaah! Spike, that's too much help!"

As for movie dialog, the only one I caught was the clear-as-day Dirty Harry reference.

1941547 heheh, you have a point. I tend to forget about Spike way too much, which is why I tend to avoid Twilight stories or Mane 6 stories. It is my dislike of his character, which is terrible because it is important to realize that this is a story, and this particular story has to be realistic. Spike would have been more involved in a snowball fight. This is true. Thanks for pointing it out. :ajsmug:

YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:
awesome story you wrote. i really loved it when fluttershy arrived with spike. this totally made my day!!!:yay::yay::yay:

:moustache:

1944357 Heh, thanks for reading! :derpytongue2:

only Pinkie, only pinkie could actually make snow morters and the things explode like REAL morter shells!:pinkiesick:! I like how Fluttershy won the fight :pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy:

It took some time to get to this story. But I really enjoyed reading it.
As you said "Thanks for fave", I say "Thanks for writing a good story". :pinkiehappy:

1970153 Heh, of course Pinkie could do that. I'd want Pinkie on MY team!

2008108 Well, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Since I didn't have a chance to comment on this the first go round, I'll do so now.

First off, this story reads like a real episode of the show. I can totaly see this thing going on between the girls. Its not over-randomed or over-refrencing (not that there's anything wrong with that), but there's just enough pop culture refrences and Pinkie Pie randomness to complement the pure simplicity of the plot: a snowball fight. This is an excelent example of a great story coming from a rather normal situation(which, for the life of me, I can't write, so extra kudos,my friend).

I don't know what else to say, so I'll just say well done!

i caught two movie references, the first was the obvious 'dirty Fluttershy', but there was also the reference to a rather famous Monty Python film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', and if u cant see it, then im not telling where it is!
