Twilight, silly,

of course you'll regret it!

wait....Trixie is only attracted to Earth Ponies? HA! Take THAT Twixie shippers!:rainbowlaugh:

Enjoying it so far, but why on earth would Royal Guards, inside Canterlot Castle, in what is obviously a very high security area, take orders from Trixie, a complete stranger?

Not to mention how he so easily got through the door that was supposed to be a vault for the most powerful items on the planet, without any kind of warning system going off tipping off Celestia/Luna.

You're right about the first part...but for the second, remember they feed on magic. its possible he somehow drained the spells around it, then manipulated the door into opening

415914 Very good points. How long was Tyr stuck with the elements? What has Trixie been doing during that time? How competent are these particular guards? Was there a warning system or not? What are Luna and Celestia doing? Who's attacking?

I'll be elaborating in future chapters, of course. The only part that might not make sense in retrospect is the guard deputizing Trixie, but I'll give a little elaboration: As far as that guard knows (who knows whether he is correct? :trixieshiftright:), Trixie is a trusted guest/agent of Luna's at the time, and, as Trixie pointed out to him, there's something much bigger going on than a single intruder that is already immobilized. Doesn't make it the smartest move, but maybe he's not thinking things through with the whole "alien invasion" stuff that is apparently happening.

As for breaking into the vault, an interesting bit of head-canon: I don't think the vault is particularly well guarded. Prior to episode 2, the elements weren't even really guarded at all: they were just left in the middle of a hostile forest. The same episode showed that they are relatively indestructible, as far as we know. How big does Celestia think the risk of somepony stealing that elements is, considering that they would have to deal with breaking in and out of the palace in the first place? How much of Discord stealing the elements was him ignoring the laws of physics to bypass security, and how much of it was a simple lack of security in the first place? I get the impression that Celestia was pretty complacent about Discord before he escaped. :trollestia:

All this adds up to the idea: if Tyr wanted to cut through the door, he could, alarms or lack thereof notwithstanding. There have been hints that Tyr may or may not have done something to change how he interacts with unicorn magic, which may or may not have helped him cut through the magical lock on the door. This may or may not be explained in the future/past/present. Maybe. (May or may not be within the next couple chapters.)
