This is part 3rd to "Maybe I could". If you want to fully understand the story i suggest you read the first two stories, it's not to long and it would make this story better but you don't have to I give a short recap in the beginning that may help new readers understand the story. For readers that have read the first two story I hope you enjoy the end, just like before I find it better if you read all the way through.
I am still a new writer and i have used the suggestions i received from my other stories for this story, feel free to comment with what you think. Also I don't really like writing action scene so I would say this part of the series is my least favorite but it is need to understand the rest of the story.

One cross-story issue here: Twilight was the one to expose Chrysalis, but then in the subsequent story that same Twilight (without any obvious opportunity for her to have been replaced) is a changeling.

Changelings gain power from emotions, so all they needed was to have Twilight(changeling) get hurt to draw some kind of emotion. The Guy has no idea who Chrysalis is, so the fact she said has no affect on him but her being in danger did.
Then in part 3 Chrysalis plays with his mind showing him Twilights when they are changelings, meaning she's feeding from emotional fear and pain. ~
Idk if it's been said yet, but later in this story it will be beaten into your brain so here it is: Magic is thoughts and emotions, and it affects anything and everything.
