This story was just kinda a random inspiration. I know it went pretty fast, but the effect I was going for was things were happening too quickly, panicky, all that jazz.

Erm... Isn't it the opposite? Lauren is the mother of Luna and Celestia?

And here I though Bonnie Zacherle created the show, at least indirectly. I'll read it later.
And so all of Equestria fell... Except for Cloudsdale which made Pegasi and griffins the only remaining species. And maybe some dragons too. And any other type of pony being carried above the ground by a pegasus.
And the princesses and mane 6 could have survived if Celestia carried Twilight (and Spike and Lauren on her back), Luna carried Applejack, Rainbow Dash carried Pinkie, and Fluttershy carried Rarity above the ground. After all, it's not a SKYQUAKE, now is it?
But, if you don't think about the plotholes too much, the grammar was good, and the idea was good, so thumbs up.

Something I should add (and this is to those of you who keep saying that anything that flies would survive), If the ground is flooded and therefore unusable, there would be no food, which would mean starvation.

Very nice idea, way too bittersweet for my tastes though.
Not sure how I feel about the conclusion. The whole "last of her kind" is quite a bitter pill, even if you get a free transformation to fit in in your new home.
As others have pointed out, there quite few loopholes in the story, end of the world by earthquakes is a bit too dramatic, where did Lauren even come from, who came up with hiding under Canterlot, the whole unexpectedness of it all.
This is a shortstory so you are excused from explaining all this, but I can't help wondering ...
Setup and execution are quite decent though, well done.

THis story was very sad and a little suspenseful in other words it was just about perfect in my book . Except for one thing a huge plothole in the story I really don't mind it, but I can't help wondering what if everypony just went to cloudsdale then there problem solved all ponies saved. All in all though the story was great I liked it and you got my thumbs up.

A portal only strong enough to send one pony through, and give it the form of whatever the species on the other side are? I guess I can roll with that... That must be the end all of all earthquakes though. I guess if it was one of those world ending Earthquakes where the lands would be unable to bear fruit for centuries and cause all survivors to simply starve out...
Yeah, what the hay, it's a good concept. I guess the rest is a story only Lauren herself can tell
