Wandering Quill

T
Source

The discovery of an extensively useful element brings about a gigantic scientific leap in Equestrian technology. Seeing the potential of owning the largest reserves of this material, one of the most influential ponies of Equestria decides to hire a team of mercenaries that can conquer their enemy's territory while protecting their own. Their scuffle causes an unprecedented war to take over the kingdom.

Kind of but not really a cross with TF2. It's best to call it a sort of adaption. Mainly uses some key elements, such as the Australium's properties and small bits of adapted storyline. Just experimenting with a concept. Tags may be subject to change.

Just a heads up.

I have to confess that this seems pretty "not my thing", so I probably won't be reading the future chapters. However, I have to give kudos for solid writing as well as a totally deserved: *upvote*

I like it and I will be looking forward to future chapters

Solid work.
story seems interesting enough at the moment, however I do hope to see it picking up in the next chapter.
Also, good grammar and such is a plus. Can't tell you how many new fics I've seen that have story ideas with amazing potential, but look like they were written by....
well, very illiterate people. :derpytongue2:
Keep it up!

1570770 Yeah, the first chapter doesn't exactly have much content, but I meant for it to be just a necessary prologue of sorts without which the following ones wouldn't make sense. So I can say for sure that the story will pick up.

1570596 Well, thank you, then!

Great work freind! :moustache:

DIAMOND TIARAAAA!! :flutterrage:
Yeoman, out

That seems like an unnecessarily brutal method of forcibly hiring some one. I wonder if Twilight will tell Celestia about this? It'd be a sure-fire way to get Filthy Rich shut down and keep her loved ones safe.

If not... Then send the mercenaries :twilightangry2:!

1586422 You'll see soon that it might not be that easy :3

I really love the atmosphere you're setting up in this story. It feels calm on the surface but all the while gears are being rotated just underneath the calm exterior as an entire Industrial Revolution is in the making! (If that makes any sense at all) Definitely going to follow this story!

Wait, is Rarity an antagonist or protagonist?

2004986 All I can say is that she's sort of on the fence. I've made it clear that she works as subordinate of Macintosh's, and is therefore not in control (much like it's obvious that Blutarch and Redmond in TF2 aren't completely in control [only given that impression]). This isn't to say you need to know anything about TF2, just that the parallel is there.

This story is toying with my emotions. It's driving me crazy!:pinkiecrazy:
I await more...
