The story of the everyday life of a human hired by mares to provide comfort for their needs, all the while exploring Equestrian life through the eyes of his customers. Set in the Gentlemanverse.
You're expanding both the story and its greater world quite nicely. It's quite good, and I can see how you're setting some stuff up for later. Enjoying this greatly.
This was actually pretty good, although I kind of feel sorry for Harry when Sea Swirl learns that he is, in fact, one of those "comfort horses" she hates so much.
However, I certainly will not say no to them working things out and starting a true relationship!
Great chapter man, it was well worth the wait. I love how you're developing Harry's personal relationships and giving a little insight into his interactions with non-clients. The unique human-pony interactions are a major part of what make this story gold in my eyes. I'll be curious to see how they play out. I'm also curious as to who his trainers were as well as what exactly was meant by "trained". If it is what I think it is then I'm extra curious. Something I'll look forward to reading about. So Rarity is now interested in the Gentlemen huh? I wonder which of her friends besides Applejack know about this? So Berry wants to study our winemaking? I would imagine she'll be in France before long. It was interesting to read that pegasus teams were being leased to human users. They would certainly be in high demand in drought stricken areas. Although once again my mind keeps thinking back to what some rogue nations back on Earth would think of this. Imagine a team being hired and then kidnapped by, say, Iran or North Korea in order to be weaponized. Controlling the weather would offer a massive strategic advantage in any kind of military engagement. Glad to see this particular chapter part is a piece of a story arc. I'm looking forward to reading the rest as well as the next part of Feathered Heart. As always happy writing!
I'm also curious as to who his trainers were as well as what exactly was meant by "trained". If it is what I think it is then I'm extra curious. Something I'll look forward to reading about.
I may delve into it, but it currently isn't on my mind now. I may do something regarding his callname though.
So Rarity is now interested in the Gentlemen huh? I wonder which of her friends besides Applejack know about this?
They'll probably disagree on it, but no big changes. They are older here. Kinda hard to break bonds of friendship after being Elements for so long.
EDIT: Yikes. Read that question again. Who else knows? No idea.

Honestly, if we're going for canon, weather manipulation as a weapon has very limited effect. The show brings to attention that most weather effects are either built up (by adding clouds together) or easily dispersed once the pegasi stop manipulating it. Only a few can even make destructive elements like a tornado... and even then, they are so small it won't even be considered that.
Also, they'd probably have guards with them. Maybe that human-pony joint group? Would be nice.
Oh God, you are twisted . Have him take more jobs in Ponyville, with Sea Swirl there, Applejack, Cheerilee and Rarity? I love it. Though... don't know if that's how it'll happen.
2231840 I won't feel sorry for him, personally. He was told she has issues with what he is... and he went off with her anyway. Whatever he gets, he's got nobody to blame but himself. Her, on the other hand, I feel sorry for. She deserves better.
Also, a bit OOC for Harry, to blatantly disregard a mare's feelings.
2231995 I guess I should have elaborated a tad more. It wasn't the clop portion that left me wanting. It just feels off that he'd been told that Sea Swirl hates Gentlemen, still being somewhat sober, and goes along with the choice to 'bed' down? While I understand it's for plot buildup, I wouldn't have minded something that would have thrown Harry off and made him more susceptible against Sea Swirl's advances. Though there could be a reason for this, I won't list my thoughts on that. But I admit that I nitpick at times, so maybe I'm the only one who thought this.
2232070 I'm a Philosopy major, so I'm being trained to evaluate "texts" as I go. This asks a lot of questions that many people can relate to like "should I be glad I'm still attracted to my own species?"
Ya know, I'm more here for the story than anything else, so chapters like this are great. Not saying I skip the clop scenes, just they are more there for the plot than just for the sake of clop. Very well done.
Now, my reaction to this chapters ending. This is directed to our ever so loveable main character...
Dude... wtf?
You just made happy time with a mare that's going to learn what you do for a living and will likely hate you for said act.
Part two of this story arc will likely be interesting. I'll be sure to have popcorn rdy when its out.
It was that or take a darker turn with the next few chapters. I could probably add a few more details regarding that particular parts (and also edit those pesky format problems), but I do want to add that he also wants to stay in Equestria. He felt he burnt his bridges so to speak, and he wasn't even given a day to actually relax. Once he got off the boat, he went through a portal that may or may not have ripped him to shreds, got a trip to Futures of Equestria, where he was unceremoniously told that he was no longer needed. Then the same day, he gets recruited to be a 'manwhore' after he was trying so hard to convince himself that he wasn't attracted to ponies that way.
.... hmm, this gives me a nice idea for the editing of the Chapter 5. Thanks.
Ohoho, all throughout this chapter I felt like Silent Bob, going "THE SIGNS! THE SIGNS YOU DUMB F..!" But I'm too polite for that.
Our dear mister Wingman can be so clueless. It's adorable!
Also, frustrating. Moreso for his friends than us, I bet. Ah well, as soon as Sea Swirl wakes up, he can try to explain how he knows so much about pleasuring unicorns- seeing as how he hasn't been 'here for long'...
So taking Harry down relationship road a little bit eh? I approve, it's a good change of pace that still fits perfectly with the story as a whole. Just hoping things don't get too terribly awkward with Sea Swirl. It's never fun when a bit of truth would upset someone so much.
I still think something fishy is going on. Just out of the blue decommission doesn't happen regularly. Until I see direct evidence otherwise, I'm gonna believe his bosses found something out and are trying to keep it hush-hush.
Thanks for the update in your story I just feel a little better and which I'm going to go back to being sad soon, due to my latest story being rated from what I thought it would be, bad, since it was made up on the spot, but enough about me let's get on with the story.
What I really, really, really liked about this chapter is the way you descrbed each area that Harry was in with such detail that I was able to imagine it myself. My favorite was the area before they reached the Water Inn. It actually sounded so beautiful that I want to go there myself one day. I also really like the development of Harry's conflict now with actually getting into a relationship with mares, now it seems like his kindness is for the other time is really going to come back and bite him hard. I feel like he should've been truthful that he wasn't sure on starting a romantic relationship with Sea Swirl yet (the pony who I found ironic to be the other end of being shipped with since I've been reading the "Heartstrings" comic where Sea Swirl is an advent shipper and sees couples everywhere).
What's more, I'm surprised to have Harry actually meeting some characters from Feathered Heart and actually having a conversation with him. But like everyone else I'm scared about how Sea will react when she finds out and I hope Thomas is as good as a friend he says he is and would actually understand his plight or at least be oblivious so he didn't know that the girls don't know about Harry hiding his job. I also hope the girls will at least hear him out before beating him if it comes to that. Another also, is that I found out that the pacing of this story is GREAT, since Harry dealing with trying to figure out what relationships is after meeting Cheerlie who was impressed by his romantic gestures. That he's now confused as to whether to actually start a relationship due to his job. I think what I'm more worried about Harry is that, I don't think he's actually fallen for Sea Swirl yet and just wants to help another pony/friend get their confidence, which is the best part about Harry and his work, he actually works on being their friend/comrade/acquaintace first before working.
Yeah, that's Harry. Ultimately, a question of whether what he did was kindness or not is really now left up to interpretation, and whether or not his actions, while well-intended, would cause suffering.
Loved this chapter. The world-building is really helping this story out a lot to become its own established universe... which it is well underway! Though I do wonder if Rarity actually got another Gentleman instead or chose to wait for our Harry to return.
Harry, you retard. You were afraid that you would be taking advantage of her, but by not telling her that you were a Gentlemen when you learned about her dislike of them, and then proceeding to bed with her anyway, that's pretty much what you just did. :I
I just pray that she don't kill him if/when she finds out about it later. Either that or one of her friends will destroy him.
Seeing as this is Neighagra Falls, I was wondering if you made a reference to that other side story by another author, "A Heirarchy Of Needs". I didn't see one, but I did see references to your own story, "Feathered Heart" (which is a good story so far, btw). Just curious. X3
Oh yes! I just finished reading Romance Reports and all of it's extras, and now you post this (Ch6). Thank you!
What if I tell you that not all clop stories have to have clop in every chapter?
Very silent update.
2231499
Then they're not nearly as entertaining.
2231593 Fair point...
2231486
No prob. Enjoy.
2231499
I know. However, considering the last chapter had that distinct lack, and this one has even less, I thought an apology was necessary.
2231572
My updates are always silent. They only tend to explode when people start reading in numbers.
2231629
Ahhh...
Well I guess that makes since
Well. Here's to hoping shit hits the fan next chapter.
2231677
Heh.
I don't mind the lack of the C. The characterization is why I read your stuff. That and the world building.
You're expanding both the story and its greater world quite nicely. It's quite good, and I can see how you're setting some stuff up for later. Enjoying this greatly.

2231781
^_^ Hope you enjoy this chapter then.
2231824
Thank you as well.
2231840
Yeah... that's going to be a doozy.
Honestly, I think we need more Equestria Exploration fics.

Ok, I like and am yet sorta... left wanting I guess. I look forward to the next chapter.
2231850

2231869
Yeah, sorry about that.
And that's why Ed had to marry Octavia real quick!
Great chapter, very deep stuff going on.
That last scene was utterly hilarious. The irony was higher than Cheech and Chong on April 20th.
2232021
Really? I don't consider it deep yet. lol.
2232022
Thanks for the mustache!
2232024
xD You're the first to mention the last scene. Have a Mac.
The fallout from this is going to hurt, and you know he will end up in Ponyville again.
2231995
True. I guess not every pegasus can clear the skies in 10 seconds flat can they?
2232083
Oh God, you are twisted . Have him take more jobs in Ponyville, with Sea Swirl there, Applejack, Cheerilee and Rarity? I love it. Though... don't know if that's how it'll happen.
2232092
Speaking of Rainbow Dash... she may make an appearance on the next chapter.
2231840

He has a weakness, something that he mentioned twice I think. Definitely will bite him in the ass, though.

Whenever this updates I make time for it. Also, ponies and alcohol at a club were did I hear that before...
Dat Blue Screen of Death when Swirl finds out he's a Gentleman. Cue Thomas walking in on them next chapter.
So Harry got pulled from the field due to a "medical condition"......
Why does that feel like a BS explanation and something more sinister is going on?
2232259
2232298
Here's to hoping I do make it interesting.
2232431
Well, most of what I got here I got from Typewriterpony's Hierarchy of Needs. Haven't read a lot of bars, clubs, ponies and alcohol fics.
2232456
2232488
If it was BS, who actually planned to give him leave? :P XD

Ah, poor dude...
Got a mare drunk and she passes out as soon as she creams...
There is another gender reversal joke there but... Not gonna say it.
Great, looking forward to seeing how things will turn out with Sea Swirl.
I want feathered hearts!
2232495
Not that I've ever had that problem. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Applejack_lolface.png
Ok, I'll admit I just came here for Cheerilee, but... I suppose you hooked me. I'll read the rest as well.
...And I know it won't happen (will it?) but if you want to go back to Cheerilee, I wouldn't mind. =3
2232560
Knowing him, he'll try to make more excuses. And more. And more. Until...
2232564
Yeah.... lol. I think we're all in one giant arc called 'Rain hell upon Harry'.
2232594
Heh. Its a good way to think.
2232596
Yeah, that's Harry. Ultimately, a question of whether what he did was kindness or not is really now left up to interpretation, and whether or not his actions, while well-intended, would cause suffering.
2232597
I think Tara said it best.
2232600
2232617
xD Its coming along nicely.
2232635
xD Yeah.
2232697
She's the mare with the best arc. xD
YES new chapter. Loving this shit.
Just please make SS's relations with him not end in horrific tragedy. Please
Loved this chapter. The world-building is really helping this story out a lot to become its own established universe... which it is well underway! Though I do wonder if Rarity actually got another Gentleman instead or chose to wait for our Harry to return.
2232739
Will try not to make it end too badly.
2232751
I honestly can't say.
Don't mind the lack of clop. Love the world building in this story.
2232704
Whether it rains hell or just more mares it's bound to be a good read.
