Luna and Pipsqueak have known each other since that Nightmare Night, but finally they are going or a grand adventure together! A trek across Equestria to find the legendary Nessie! Along the way, they will encounter strange creatures of old, and find the truth behind what happened to Luna's friend.
While they are gone, a prank war is brewing in the castle. Private Blitzen and Sergeant Feather Fury are tasked with a special mission: Prank the Sun Princess and do NOT get caught!
Two stories for the price of one. There are a few sad scenes, enough to warrant a slight warning, but I am mainly focusing on the Adventure in Story One, and Comedy in Story Two.
Note: Story Two is not necessary to read, as it mainly involves OCs, but does give a bit of side story on what happened while the Princess of the Night was away!
Hello all! A quick commentary before this gets published. These two stories are it. No sequels planned as I have both my Advanced Interrogations to finish, as well as my first shot at a tragic story (coming very soon this week!).
I wanted to explain WHY this is a two chapter story.
Initially the story went something like this:
Pip and Luna story (story A)
meanwhile, Blitzen and Fury (story B)
Story A,
Story B,
Story A,
etc.
The problem was while I as the author knew what was going on, tracking four things at once, it was unfair to ask that of everyone. So I decided, with much input from my proofreader to split the story. Story A happens first, while Story B goes one while the Princess is away.
I made it this way, as I introduced a few characters I made in the second story, and as the main focus is Luna and Pipsqueak, I felt the story should be about them only, and not about others. Not to waste all that good material, and to answer questions of what happened, I included the second chapter as an optional read.
Anyways, I hope this makes sense. Please enjoy, and comment as you'd like! Especially those who love or hate it.
Dang it all! It occurred to me I forgot something... the list of mythological chacters used!
SPOILERS!!!
I featured the following:
A Sianach. A carnivorous deer.
An Ukoy. Filipino Monster, much like an Octopus. Mentioned, but never seen.
Kelpies. Water Spirits that are tricksters, or monsters that eat unsuspecting prey. Mentioned briefly.
Nessie. The Loch Ness Monster. Though the title should have made that obvious.
A Longma. Chinese Dragon-Pony, slightly modified. Much like the Kirin, it is given special powers of both animals, but can walk on water, and is a sort of omen. Made her a filly. Her wings are VERY similar to this creature, but she is obviously NOT a Piscine Wyvern! The wings are larger than most Pegsi wings, which allows her to glide farther. Should she swim, she can do so with great speeds.

The Sphinx. Much like an old story, I couldn't help but make him tell his riddle to lil Pip. The question itself is a reference to an Adventure Time episode!
Cut creatures (not seen in the story): A Trenti moss spirit. After reading more up on them, they seemed more perverted, so I excluded them from the story. Tricksters, but also have affinity for females.

Hey there. Well in a previous story, Letters from Blitzen he is a colt around 10-11 years of age. but has lived around 120 actual years. I justified this as he aged very slowly and matured at a much slower pace than other ponies.
That said in that story, after a situation comes up in which Sweetie saves Blitzen, he is given an opportunity to age normally. He decides to take it, in exchange for his present service to the Princess. Thus why he is a Private now (the gap between the two stories is around three to four months, taking into consideration standard Basic Training here in the States as a measure, as I have no idea what Equestrian standards are!)
Hope that explains that. Sadly, not planning any more chapters to this story, but Awkuwa will return, under the tutelage of the Librarian who would love to learn more about her, and study her unique physiology. This will be after Thanksgiving though, as I am going to be without internet for a while. (Plus, I am trying to find an artist, probably Myke Greywolf again, but I have others who would like to draw the Longma. It presents a bit of a challenge in it of itself!)
