Luna was banished inside part of her own "Element", while Celestia wasnt, instead ended up in Lunas part instead (i know the stars always shine but you can only see them at night after all) of inside the sun.

I could see that being one of the reasons why ponies would think Luna is actually NMM and just made all up.

Still a good short one.

Celestia is the avatar of the sun or something so use your iamgination and say shes fire proof , and not banished to the but in the sun(or at least in Lunas case where it was the moon), becoming a part of it i imagine.

The moon is frigging cold during the Lunar night (almost 200 Celsius in negative or so) and hot during the day (almost 100 Celsius)
