6-D Pegasus

Me or my OC?

E

A young boy in the city dreams of seeing the stars through the smog. Far away, somepony hears his dreams.

Speedwrite on a whim after having a fleeting thought upon sending a friend a picture of the night sky I took while on vacation once. Well, if you can call about three, four, hours a speedwrite.

I expected Luna to only be able to show him the night sky in his dream, and in a strange way that led to quite a catharsis when I realized it was a real view, for everyone to see. It's understated, and yet a very powerful moment in my opinion.

Congrats on your second-ever human fic! And a wholesome one at that! ^^

Huzzah! The stars have been doubled!!

by far the best human fan fic i've read in a lonnnnnggggg time

I very, very much approve of this.

The human setting feels almost cyberpunk-y. I wonder if Luna also had to wipe out electric lighting to make the stars that visible.

Think it was a bit more than 'doubled'...

A very sweet read. Moona would approve.

This..... this was beautiful. Further reinforces why I love Luna, her love of the night and all it entails.

Yet another fantastic fic, 6-D!

That's a really nice story. I liked it.

This was very satisfying! Thank you. The picture is inspiring, I understand how it provided your muse with material.

Seeing the unfiltered night time sky was so of my best memories being deployed on a ship. The big reason you cannot see the stars at night, especially in a big city is because of light pollution (I know for the context of this story the smog works just fine). It's the same reason even when you're on a cruise ship hundreds of miles away from a population center you still cannot see the stars as clearly. Anyway, totally jealous of Alan getting visited by the princess of the night even though she is my favorite pony my dreams have been void of her presences. Bravo on the horse words!

I saw a view like what Alan saw a few weeks ago, just before dawn; it had been a while since I had seen so many stars, and I had MISSED it! If anyone reading this is ever in a position to step outside what they know to see the stars unobstructed, I urge you, DO IT!

This was a special little story, author, and I hope you know that!

EDIT: For those who have never heard this lovely little story song, I offer a small gift:

'Aurora Borealis' by C.W. McCall

Close your eyes, listen, and dream again...

This was sweet and cute. It's great to go and see the night sky without light pollution or, well, smog in the way.

Fantastic work!

I love this so much! Stories like this really make me happy, something as simple to Luna as the night being so mesmerising to someone like Alan and him finally being able to see it is just so sweet.

D'aww that was cute. Luna is the best!

Beautiful story. Really the way Luna should be portrayed and a way that shows just how important she really is other than just "Nice dreams". Having lived in a big city before, I loathed the sight and smells of a society like that, especially at night. It's so much more beautiful when you get away from the city lights and get to actually look up at the unbridled night sky. Wonderful work on this one.

This was a really great story. Also, the picture in the author’s notes isn’t showing up

Tilting his head a little, he could see the faint, silver glow of the moon, peeking just shy above one of the looming skyscrapers. He recalled panicking the first time he saw that. After all, the moon is supposed to rise in the night only, while the sun rises during the day, right? He still couldn't understand, or remember, his dad's explanation, only that moon "rose when it did, and was not stuck to a time of day or place."

I never exactly questioned that the first time i just kinda accepted it
But now that its right in front of me? Yeah

That magic can be powerful
When millions of people wish for the same thing?

Indeed
there are designated dark sky areas
I know one is Up in lake of the woods in Minnesota
Heck Ely is one of them!

Fixed! I might need to continue to fix it if it continues to break

Really sweet. Loved it

Is this story set in Los Angeles, January 17th, 1994? :trollestia:

This is the happier form of Loathe's - Is It Really You? and I'm all for it. Visualizing the love of a clear sky with stars twinkling back at you is a luxury most of us city dwellers rarely get to see unless we drive so far out it's beyond comprehension, and this view is so brought into the forefront through Luna's character (and subsequently the humans). Thank you for this.
