On a day as ordinary as any other, the Cutie Map assigns a new friendship mission to Twilight, who soon becomes concerned about the place it tells her to go.

However, when a sinister and seemingly powerful evil that is somehow linked to him is unleashed upon Equestria and the Crystal Empire, giving himself the opportunity to explore his feelings will not be an easy task.

Honestly for a first story it's actually pretty good, I seen a lot of first stories on this site and this is one of the best I have seen so far, atleast top 10.
Here's a suggestion, 1 magic inhibitor, 30 guards around the the castle of friendship (assuming that's where she will be reforming him), and 1 Discord.
He could never face Discord without being destroyed in under 5 seconds, if Sombra were to attack Equestria that would mean he would be attacking Fluttershy and if he attacked Fluttershy then Discord would be pissed.
Just because Sombra is evil doesn't mean he's powerful, Shining Armor seems to be having a hard time putting that through his thick skull. If there's anything that I hate more, it is Shining Armor being an idiot sometimes.

I'm actually surprised this story isn't that popular, probably the fact the likes/dislikes has been disabled, doesn't explain why there isn't any other comments besides mine and the author's.

Shining Armor just gets more overprotective doesn't he? Chapter 1-3 has shown how much a bad brother he is with how much he likes to interrupt her sister.
I'm also starting to notice that Shining Armor is more rude than Sombra! Didn't see that coming.
At this point I'm just waiting for Sombra to be just as kind as Fluttershy and than Twilight rubs it in his face, or Sombra rubs it in his face. Seriously, Shining Armor annoys me.

He still has the ring on; remember that the ring does not completely suppress his magic, it only does when it's dark magic, it's what Celestia says in chapter 3. A levitation spell is not dark magic.

Well, you got it. Sombra is undeniable powerful and experienced with magic (at least in this fic), but only when it comes to dark magic. He's probably just a bit more skilled with white/light magic than an average unicorn.

Yes that makes sense, so I'm gonna guess about half as powerful as Twilight in normal magic when she was only a unicorn and slightly more powerful than Rarity.
