Was Twilight really framed and put to death at the end of "Cheerilee's Garden"?

She was put to death at the end of Cheerilee's Garden. While she did kill Cheerilee for killing all her friends using a ton of magic, Cheerilee was the murderer in the story.

No, they just thought she did it because witnesses saw her kill Cheerilee and that she was powerful enough to bypass the towers magic negation to destroy it. They didn't even bother to wait for her to wake up and question her. She woke up already on trial and no one even bothered to even hear her out.

I have read that story three times and while reading it the third time, the ending was so saddening for me that it prompted me to write this....something that takes place a year after the fact. I figured the way to do it was not simply give it an alternate ending but write my own story to "right all the wrongs" that took place a year earlier. Good luck on writing your own story.

And regarding the ending of Cheerilee's Garden, never before had a story made me hate Luna. She was a tyrant in that story if you ask me.

Colgate once again became more emotional but then got back to work on bringing everypony else back. Fifteen minutes later Colgate had cast spells on all the grave sites and everypony who had been killed was once again alive. While they were all reuniting one pony approached Colgate, hugged her and exclaimed, "Thank you Colgate, thank you. Ah'm so happy, we're all so happy that ya set things right."
It was Applejack. Colgate returned the embrace and replied, "Well I knew that Twilight never committed those murders and I wanted for things to return to normal. I know I used forbidden magic to do it but hopefully all our lives can return to normal. Hopefully everything can be like it was before everything went so wrong."

"Ah have no doubt that they will. But hey, ya'll think you can use that spell to bring back my parents?"

"Sure, I don't see why not!"

Now everything is great again.
