Hey, blatant appeals to emotion are an acceptable substitute for important components of a quality story, right? Right?
I really like the idea, and there were numerous parts where I chuckled, but I feel like self-awareness of the story being a parody in the first place was a bit heavy-handed. Perhaps if the narrative were to take itself seriously at times you could have gotten in some good jokes as well. Even so, this is good as is. You made me drown in youknowwhat.

This was hilarious and well-thought out! Well done! I have not read any death fics (with the exception of the one I've written of Spike x Fluttershy), but Incan tell there are probably a bunch of cliches that are painfully apparent.

I can no longer read a 'Scoots dies, Rainbow cries' fic, I tried but I just started laughing as I mentally ticked off the boxes. You killed an entire subgenre for me.

Long-short: Rarity gets killed, the use of the EoH consequently gets severed, and Equestria plunges into war after Celestia gets assassinated (Yeah, I'm one of the morons who believes the Alicorns aren't invulnerable; THEY'RE DEATHABLE!). Oh, also, the war thing? It was totally silly to even think of providing any truly concrete details there, so it's glossed over. So anywho, after that, the war ends when Rainbow sui-nukes the enemy capital, and Ponyville is still in the midst of recovery when Spitfire gives Rainbow's mom a visit. She's a middle-aged pony in a retirement home.
Is it sounding atrocious yet, or what? lol
I am shameful, and I don't care. Seriously though, even though I'm planning out two more stories that I hope will be exponentially better than that one, both multi-chapter epic(ish)...s, I still would like it if you were to give it a look-see, if only so I can FINALLY get an impartial and critical critique on the piece. Oh, did I mention it's almost two years old now?
