This story is a sequel to The Blue Mage

When Apple Bloom, Daring Do, and Trixie discovered an alicorn prison dating back to the time of the alicorn purge, they were shocked to find it held two seemingly innocent alicorn fillies. Leaving them with Twilight, Spike revealed that they weren’t just any alicorn fillies; they were the daughters of the most dangerous alicorn to ever live. Now they must find their way in a world far different from the one they knew.

Meanwhile Twilight, with the help of Daring Do, begins checking on the remaining alicorn prisons that are hidden throughout the land, both within Equestria and beyond.

This story follows directly after The Blue Mage, and has a lot to do with the Alicorn Imperium and the Alicorn Purge that was introduced in Child of Misery, so reading both will be necessary for this story.

if its okay to ask, are the previous stories required to be read zo understand your new story

11493042
From the very first sentence I'd say yes, or there will be quite the confusion.

11493089
Yes, I was thinking I should add a note to the description. This one directly follows The Blue Mage, and has a lot more to do with Child of Misery than Blue Mage did, so reading both is going to be necessary for this story.

I've been eagerly waiting for this day! :pinkiehappy:

That was a good first chapter goodluck with the rest of it.

That was a good chapter.

I'm glad this is being continued.

So far I absolutely love your story

That was a good chapter.

This is my favorite chapter so far. It was interesting to learn the Alicorn prisons.

Here are some highlights of mine:

“Ruby Sky and Latent Flame, imprisoned together… This one doesn’t list many crimes.” Twilight said somewhat surprised as she struggled to read the ancient writing. “Looks like they’re mostly just accused of enslaving mortal ponies. Though they were linked to a few crimes that were attributed to the council in general.”

So, Ruby Sky (especially) and Latent Flame, at the moment, seem to be the nicest of the Alicorns for now.

“They sound a lot more pleasant than this guy at least,” Daring said, reading over another of the scrolls. “Harrow. Crimes include: Enslaving mortals, of course, numerous counts of violent rape. Starswirl made a point of saying violent; one-hundred-seventeen known murders, another seventy-two suspected. Fifty-seven counts of torture; many of which included rape, murder or both…” She shook her head. “Definitely hope that prison is holding. The mortal coalition obviously wanted to make sure he didn’t escape either; they put some pretty wicked sounding traps on his prison.”

Under no circumstances should he be released.

Twilight looked as well, and her eyes widened in surprise. “Ghastly Gorge?”

“Yikes. That one might already be quarray eel food.” Daring said.

Nobody's dead until you see the body.

“Wisteria… We never didst meet her. By rumors she was… not pleasant, but not as bad as some others.”

Interesting, hopefully we'll learn more about her.

“One of the places marked on the map. The one way out west; if where you marked it is accurate, that would put one of the prisons right beneath the main changeling hive.” She said softly.

Uh-oh, that is not good.

“I remember there being a section deep in the hive that was off limits to all but a few of the queen’s guard and the queen herself.”

“You think she knew about it, then?”

“Possibly. Noling except those few the queen allowed knew what was in those tunnels, though.”

So, not only is there an Alicorn prison underneath the Changeling hive, there is also a likely chance that Chrysalis herself knows about it?

“If I’m right about those tunnels the queen restricted access to, then she’s known for some time. Hopefully that means she’s not intending on freeing the alicorn herself. But there’s always the chance she might accidentally free them.”

“Or they might manage to break free themselves,” Twilight agreed.

Possible foreshadowing?

“Some of these alicorns though; the things they’re accused of…” Daring trailed off shaking her head.

Twilight nodded. “Yeah, most of them, it’s no wonder why they were so hated… There are just a few though, that I have to wonder if it would be worth giving them another chance.”

It's worth a try, if you ask me.

“So how many prisons are there anyway?” Rainbow asked as she scanned all the marks on the map. “Looks like quite a few.”

“Thirty-five.” Twilight told her. “Well thirty-six, but one was obviously Achlys’, so we crossed that one off the list.”

I have a bad feeling that something is going to break them out. On the bright side, Achlys is already been permanently dealt with. Hopefully....

Loving this story so far! Keep it up!

Is this the last story in this series?

That was a good chapter. I wonder how many more of these ancient Alicorns were considered evil by association instead of actual misdeeds.

I just read through the previous stories in this series and was thrilled to see this story was still ongoing! I enjoy this very much, I'll be following with interest.

Why does the text go from left sided to centred halfway through?

This was a nice chapter. I look forward to how their meeting with Celestia and Luna will go.

Also, I don't know if it was intentional; but the text went from left sided to centered halfway through the chapter.

Nice chapter and growth! You did not close the center justify code though after the separator halfway through.

That was a good chapter.

lol, woops. Yep, I missed the / in the code to end the centering. It's fixed now.

Hum I feel like it's a little cruel since you got rid of there mother but brought them into the world I hope something can be done for them. Or they may just turn evil too and have to be put down.

Hahahahahahaha
This will be fun
I wonder if starlight is a half alicorn

That was a good chapter. I wonder if Starlight has any connection to this Alicorn.

I forgot, does the human world exist in this universe? If so, Twilight could use some inspiration from that world to help with her inventing the telephone.

This series did start in the middle of season 4 which was after the first EQG movie, but before the rest, so for this series only the first movie would be canon. Which means Twilight wouldn't have any way to get to the human world or even contact them, so she'd have to just go off of what she remembers. Thinking on it. I don't think Twilight really had much experience with phones in that first movie. She used the computer in the library and that was about it for technology.

Yeah, Sunset was called to the school by Rainbow at the beginning of 'Rainbow Rocks' by cell, but they could have been early commercial cells after the fall formal ...

Rainbow and Daring are at Wisteria's prison correct?

11616711
That was the one imprisoned in ghastly gorge. This is one of the other ones mentioned earlier.

Winter nodded. Twilight had already told them as much. “We will see thee then,” she said and with Dawn by her side, started across the lawn toward the schoolhouse. Their arrival hadn’t gone unnoticed however and three fillies galloped across the lawn to meet them halfway.

Replace will with shall. Its grammatically correct, but considering the dialect, it should be shall.

… well, that is interesting

That was a good chapter.

“Oh,” Twilight said understanding. “That’s because that’s actually not the flag they raised. Nopony knows what the original Equestrian flag looked like. All records of it were lost during the Discordian era, so everyone just uses the modern Equestrian flag instead when illustrating the Hearth’s Warming story. There actually weren’t any known alicorns at the time. Princesses Celestia, and Luna, the alicorns pictured on the flag, weren’t born until centuries after these events.”

That makes a lot of sense.

That was a good chapter goodluck with the next one.

“Greed growth is a temporary, and can be reversed fortunately, otherwise he couldn’t live in Ponyville anymore.” Twilight told her. “His more recent growth is a bit more natural.”

Remove the a

“I’m Dawn, and you are Sunset.”

I see. The whole reason you named this character Dawn was to make this one specific joke. You cannot fool me.

11756229
Hmmm, including Twi's parents give the sequence - Sunset, Twilight, Night (Light), Twilight, Dawn

You know, Granny Smith being a half alicorn earth pony would explain some stuff about her own age...

So is it just a coincidence that Harrow's prison collapsed part way through? Or did Harrow escape and do that on his way out? I can certainly understand them checking his prison first, assuming that they reasoned based on his crimes that he'd be the worst of them to wind up escaping.

I know it doesn't add up to even close to the exact difference, but I wonder the temporal anomaly with the portal is at least in part a consequence of Apple Bloom repeatedly rewinding time?

No Sci-Twi? How unfortunate, I would have thought she might want to study her world's magical fields and help humanity understand it better. But that world isn't the focus of this story. Maybe there will be a spin-off one day. *shrugs* Eh, I can dream.

Sunset hasn't had a chance being the hero to really help build her confidence.

She wasn't much better when 'Forgotten Friendship' aired either ...

That was a good chapter goodluck with the next one.

I was just thinking, "When is this story going to update?". And it did!
