Hah, this was great. Let me count the ways.

I'm an atmosphere junkie, and this oozes atmosphere. Just the opening scene with its quietness and solitude already sets a great tone.

I don't mind at all that other characters played a prominent role. I've done that myself, where the requested characters were still very important but not the main character, and I'm glad you explored the freedom of bringing some other ones into it.

I liked how you left Chrysalis's situation open, since resolving it would probably mesh with canon clumsily at best.

The theme of bringing back many villains, including Juniper and the Dazzlings was great, seeing as how Starlight and Sunset were once villains themselves, and the Dazzlings are almost always a good addition to a story anyway.

And I appreciate how you subtly changed the perspective so the final scene could stay with Sunset and show her own development. Like the cover art, it blends from one to the other.
