Correct me if I'm wrong: Glitch and D-pad's parents were killed in a lightning storm and their home was destroyed. Now they have moved to Ponyville to find a new home. And so far 3 out of 4 of the characters on the cover picture have been introduced in this chapter

and D-pad and Glitch didn't go straight from the fire to ponyville they lived somewhere else in between which may or may not be explained in the next chapter

Hey, thanks for clarifying. Make sure D-pad takes good care of Glitch; losing your parents and your home as a young filly can't be easy.
On a proofreader's note, it would help if you separated all the paragraphs with two line breaks instead of one. A blank line between paragraphs would be more noticeable than only a line break
