Sequels1

T

This story is a sequel to The Young Warrior

As a young changeling, Pharynx Elytron was known by all his fellow nymphs as the toughest, most ferocious of them all. And if you touched his brother, you were guaranteed to be beaten up later. When it was time for them to be apprenticed, they all hoped to be picked by the best of the best, the legendary Aureum in Generali, Fortuna-domina. The changeling had never taken an apprentice before, but with two royal children in the newest batch of apprentices, the nymphs were sure she had to make her appearance. Yet, when it was time for the nymphs to be matched with mentors, Fortuna chose Pharynx, the one changeling that they were all sure didn't need the guidance the rest of them deserved.

...Or did he?

Not hard to like Fortuna

That's what I'm going for. Tuney was referenced a couple times in The Young Warrior as being Thorax and Pharynx's "only mother figure." I figured I should have one of the sequels show you why they considered her that

The mother Thorax and Pharynx deserved but never had.

Indeed. Just wait until later, things will get...emotional

“I promise, mom.” he whispered. “I’m never going to forgive them, I’m never going to trust them again. They will pay for what they did to you. I swear on my life. I. Will. End. Them.”

Revenge feels kinda overdone in most villain arcs for some reason, though I can definitely see Pharynx going through that sorta thing. Maybe during his journey, he learns to forgive and realize the faults in his mindset?

Ah, might I remind you that by the time he does actually meet the ponies responsible for his mother's death (Shining and Cadence) he's actually quite cordial to them?

He's grieving right now, entering the Anger stage. Give him some time-skip time

Oh? How does he get over it?

Would that not be spoilers, Bez?

But as I implied, it's a couple time-lapses. I couldn't think of a way to make reliving Young Warrior through Phar's P.O.V entertaining. I had a feeling if the readers were anything like me, they'd gloss over it
