After defeating the Tantabus, Princess Luna finds herself staying with Fluttershy in her cottage to continue healing. Despite destroying the Tantabus, the fight is far from over as Princess Luna continues to struggle to accept love and forgiveness. Old habits die hard, especially ones a thousand years in the making.

I think this is a good idea for a story....
But I think you didn't properly set the stage in the opening paragraphs. Showing a character's routine might be important, but it isn't a good way to set the mood.
I think a good way to start the story would've been Luna struggling to eat Fluttershy's food. This shows her internal guilt and struggle.
I'm not trying to put you down: I just want you to be the best you can be.

Admittedly I decided to shift the tone of the story after writing that scene from just Slice of Life to Sad/SoL. So I can definitely understand why it comes off as weird. Thanks!
Although the tantabus is gone, it's scars remain on her. I always thought Luna had the one of the most thankless jobs in equestria. When ponies are wrapped in their nightmares without hope, she is there. When a pony cries sad and alone under the night sky, her moon and stars are there. When a soul falls to blackness, and follows a path like Nightmare Moon, she can stand in the way, a gentle moon beam to guide them away, because she had been there herself.
A very thoughtful and insightful story, good work as always.
