Newly reformed and fresh off her parade celebrating the beginning of her redemption, Starlight Glimmer arrived at the Castle of Friendship with Princess Twilight Sparkle and Spike. She was ready to learn friendship from Twilight, now her teacher, and Twilight was excited over having her own student.
However, Spike was even more excited over Starlight moving in. He drooled over the prospect of having backup in dealing with the bane of his existence.
But only if he doesn't scare Starlight off first...

Unless I just forgot, Twilight never technically said Starlight was her first-ever student, so I used that as a loophole for the joke about how she had two students that took off. It's something I could make into a story as a prequel if it would have enough interest.

It wasn't Sunset, since I said in the Author's Notes that she didn't take the offer. I could have made it a bit more clear in it, but unlike Twilight's first two mystery students, Spike freaked Sunset out with "stories" before Twi asked her to be her student, so when she was asked, her answer was a quick but polite "No!"
