Peregrine Caged

I miss the days--to all my fans and supporters, you were great. I leave a ghost, honest but neglected promises, and just the tip of the worlds I wished to share...

T

It's been a long wait for Grey Tiercel, ex-Manehattan Police Department detective, but soon he'll be back in the game of chasing criminals and solving cases. Just as soon as his investigator's license arrives.

Too bad nopony told the criminals to wait.

It's just a cutpurse, but Grey Tiercel has been cooped up for too long to stand by and do nothing. The chase reminds him why he took up the badge. The streets call out for his return.

But this simple chase of a simple thief will turn out to be just the beginning of the legend, so closely whispered amongst the forgotten of the city. And so angrily cried by those who would hide in the city's darkness.

This is when the Hawk takes flight.

A part of my Manehattan Chronicles: Breaking Ground and Building Blocks series of shorts.

The city of Manehattan is home to an endless number of stories--some good, some bad; some long and some short; some filled with joy and others the unfortunate victims of tragedy. This is what some call Life, but others a joke. The day by day activities of the players that inhabit this city of opportunity are just as varied. Anypony can have a good day that makes them or a bad day that breaks them.

These are the excerpts of just a few who--by their choice or by Fate--are forced to live and survive in Equestria's shining, ebon jewel.

Interesting so far. I didn't see any major mistakes. Keep it up, you're pretty good at writing.

Ooh, now this should be interesting... :yay:

Citrus wants to give it a thumbs down, but I ignored her. Nice work!:pinkiehappy:

Gonna have to look into this RP, it sounds fun. I really liked Tiercel, but the urchins were pretty cool too.

This is going to be good...I can tell! :yay:

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. Paranoia and years of practice come in handy!

1412463
Oh, you.

1412493
Glad to see you had the strength to ignore her madness. And thanks!

1412664
It is beyond fun and we are making something truly amazing. The more the merrier!

Thank 'e very much. It's a lot of fun to do, since it's basically pure character building in story telling fashion.

Dustdigger: "Looks like the Hawk ruffled some feathers, eh? Eh?"

Lyra: "Please stop. You're not only embarrassing me, but yourself too."

Dustdigger: "Fine. Was still in a good story though. But not as good as Dar-"

Lyra: "It's not really the same type of story as Daring Do so it's unfair to compare then."

Dustdigger: "I'll just shut up before you go into another musical metaphor..."

Sync: Let me get this straight. We walk ALL OVER this city and we seem to be the ONLY orphans, yes?
Thorn: I'm not exactly an orphan...
Sync: Oh no...OH NO THEY DIDN'T! I bet these little urchins were following us the whole time and laughing at our failures--"Oh look at the pathetic little unicorns, see how even the rich orphans fall to the same hardships as us but we're tribalists so we don't like uncool types like them--" I MEAN COME ON!
Thorn: Hey Sync, my parents will find me here, right? Right?
Sync: This is bucking ridiculous! DISLIKE!
Thorn: But I like the story!
Meanwhile Kartal, who was holding the mouse this whole time, slowly moves the cursor to the thumbs up and presses it, much to the displeasure of Sync

Blaze: Oh seƱora, this "Hawk" is quite the hero, no?
Citrus: *Snort* Oh please, all he did was gallop around a bit and pretend to know what he was doing.
Blaze: Ahaha, do I detect the sound of jealousy?
Citrus: *DEATH GLARE*
Blaze: It seems, I do not.
Citrus: Quite. Come along, Blaze. I'm not wasting my entire evening on the internet with you.
Blaze: Ah, your cruel words! They wound me! Can you hold me to your plot? I wish to cry.
Citrus: :facehoof:

Should have joined in on the fun when I had the chance...I could have used Purple Dreams (if you still remember her...:trollestia:)

1413394
Of course I do! And who says it's too late? We're right in between major story Arcs, it's the perfect time to join!

Very nice :pinkiehappy: Is this the one you said had a kind of Dresden feel to it? Cuz I could tell :pinkiehappy:

Hahha, well, I started this story in third person, before adapting the first. So, the next one I do--which was started with the intent to begin with--will, with any luck, sound a lot more like it, heh.

HAH.
