Queen Chrysalis, the sole ruler of Changelings, knows that if things stay the same, her hive will starve to death.
The hunting grounds, used for centuries by her hive, the hive of her mother, the hive of her grandmother, and for the entirety of the Changeling Hive's existence, have run dry. Her hunters have to search further and further... but it's not enough.
She has to expand, and the closest nation is that of Equestria. Her hive must come first.
If I didn’t know any better I’d say you have something planned.

Glad you enjoyed this! Yes, I do have a sequel planned. Just finishing up one project at a time.
But rest assured! I have plans
it is a pity that, based on the first law of thermodynamics, "energy does not arise out of nowhere and will not disappear into nowhere" - and from this it follows that "the consumer can never generate more energy than it consumes."
no matter how ideally the energy circulates inside the system, it will gradually become less and less (due to the expense to maintain vital movement and related processes) and over time the entire system will stop.
if this were not so, then the perpetual motion machine would have been invented long ago and the energy shortage would not exist in principle.

https://m.I enjoyed that the eaters of love were basically infected by it to the point that they could then visualize the possibility of respectful collaboration.
A few minor grammatical points were temporarily a little distracting, but not enough to divert me OUT of the storyline.
As someone relatively disconnected from the MLP miltiverse, I was able to grasp enough through the interestingly descriptive character insights that I didn't really need to be fully immersed in the genre in order to enjoy the story on its fundamentally sound merits.
I've also enjoyed the author's candidly transparent responses to fan posts about the ups & downs surrounding the creative process.
Looking forward to seeing more!
