Charles is an average guy who works a less than average job at the Cloudy Hills Asylum. He goes about his daily life, caring for, vaccinating, and (much to his discomfort) torturing and killing off the patients who reside inside. However, his life will soon change when he is assigned to exterminate a patient who is having strange hallucinations of a certain orange Pegausus.

This story was awesome, it sort of reminded me of My Little Dashie, except, of course, he didn't die at the end.

This story was very interesting. I did enjoy reading it, but I don't think nurses and/or caretakers in asylums bludgeon their patients. Maybe I need to do some research or something. Anyways, this story was very good. Very sad though. :fluttercry::ajsleepy:

I am fully aware of this. However, for the purpose of the story, I decided to exaggerate the truth a bit to boost the atmosphere of the Asylum.
Thanks for the read though, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This has been the type of story i like dark, sad and interesting. Gust plain asome:rainbowkiss:

This is soooooo sad. :fluttercry: Great story, but when they young boy died, it made me cry... :raritydespair:

Questions.

I understand that this is obviously some sort of awful future where people are monitored for any sign of insanity.

But why do they utilise such an inefficient method of execution? There are far easier ways to kill a lot of people quickly.

Why do asylums exist when this story seems to imply that insane people are killed off fairly quickly? There didn't seem to be any attempt to cure Charles. Assuming that they use a hammer for budgetary reasons, just kill them immediately and don't have an asylum at all.

Assuming ponies are real. Why do they interact with humans at all? By this point they have to know that the human will be punished for it.

Again, assuming the ponies are real. The people watching the security cameras would see obvious signs of an invisible entity. Apples being eaten, cars being repaired.

Assuming that Charles is crazy. What's eating the apples?

What caused such a major lapse into delusion? You don't just get visual, auditory, and tactile hallucinations because you're sad.

Honestly this story had a lot of potential, unfortunately it felt poorly thought out.
