Rarity and Discord are sent on a mission by the friendship map during the holiday season. Can they save Hearth's Warming for these Manehatten fans of the punk aesthetic, or will they only cause more chaos.

It's probably going to be a little bit of both.

This was very entertaining. The characters were on point and the comedy perfect.

Bwahahaha! Great pairing for a great story.

God, Lil Biscuit is a genius for picking that pairing. And you moreso for the execution.

Their past attempts at getting one another gifts had been lackluster, and it was causing them distress in the present.

I see what you did there...

Rarity watched this display, first feeling rather silly for not considering consulting with Discord back during that particular misadventure.

'That particular'? They should be consulting Discord for every misadventure.

Trust me, I’m rediscovering how to shine from the inside out with every season.”

There you go again.

“Are you wearing my mane?”
“Yes, and honestly I think I wear it better.”

Oh damn, shots FIRED.

Awesome job, Pen! :rainbowlaugh:

I do do appreciate that ending, the perfect cap

Lil Biscuit only requested Punk Rarity. But I felt Discord was a quick way to get to the action and have Rarity go punk just as quickly.

That works, too. Very nice decision. :derpytongue2:

A brief little tale, but this is an interesting pairing. It feels a little like part of a story instead of a complete tale all its own. I also noticed one or two typos, such as Discord offering Rarity a paper “cut” full of tea. Now, I believe Discord could conjure up a cut full of tea—but I don’t think Rarity would like it.

I wonder how punk even came about in Equestria. Do they have pony versions of punk groups, like the “Manehattan Dolls” or the “Sax Pastels?”

It’s great to see a new story from you! Do you have any plans for a new Nyx tale?

“One… two… one two three four!”
You hardly ever hear a punk drummer or bassists call half-notes. It's usually "onetwothreefour" like Dee Dee Ramone used to do. Come to think of it, I wonder how Rarity would have reacted to Discord giving her Ramones hair instead of her mohawk.

This was fun. Wish I heard what song Rarity was playing

Those are lyrics. Green Day is a solid punk band, though, when they aren't making ballads that play on mall loudspeakers, that is.

She is in Manehatten, so it would have to be something New York.

Edit: Man, I love this story just for making me want to look up old punk songs.

Going into this, I knew a concert was going to be the solution, punk's about the music, not the fashion.

Ramones hair? Joey or Johnny?

Green Day hasn't really been a punk band for like 20 years or more.

They all kind of had that shoulder-length in back, bangs in front look early on. It would honestly look pretty funny on a tiny horse.

I feel you on Green Day. I still have "Good Riddance" stuck in my head from working retail as a kid for which I have sworn vengeance. They took a huge pop turn, but I am still disinclined to say that they stopped being punk. Of course, my definition of punk is pretty broad. For example, I would call a lot of Mötorhead's discography punk even though they play... rock and roll!

this picture of Rarity reminds me of one thing >

Really? Rarity seems more the type to prefer classical music.

A friendship lesson, classic Rarity, and a touch of chaos. The recipe for what people should see as perfection

Eh, GD is still pretty punk. They may not sound punk rock, but they got that energy and ehtos that denotes punk.
