We've seen how Pony Life Fluttershy tries to open a cardboard box, but how would Friendship is Magic Fluttershy go about opening a cardboard box? How much difficulty would that version of Fluttershy have opening such a box? (Hint: A lot of trouble). Also, incidentally, WHAT'S INSIDE?!! (Hint: It's not a phone).

Based off of the Pony Life episode "Unboxing Day".

This is a lot of fun, and catches the many aspects of Fluttershy's personality really well: meek-and-helpless, determinedly self-sufficient, peeling-paint-overload-fury, they're all there. And it has a sweet ending, unlike many Random stories that end on an off-color joke.

(One does have to assume that kitchen knives and box-cutters are somehow not a thing here, but the execution of the story makes it worth rolling with it.)

Nice job!

Yeah, I can understand the frustration you have with Pony Life Fluttershy. The writers essentially turned her into Sour Sweet without the biting sarcasm and plus a little extra insanity and creepiness. Then again, I think the show's increased emphasis on comedy and the severely shortened episode format don't allow for a lot of depth and nuance in the writing and character development department, so the writers basically distilled Fluttershy into her sweet, meek, adorable side as represented by her ability to shrink and her quote "dark side" unquote as represented by her ability to grow ginormous. I know it's incredibly jarring considering Fluttershy's original personality, but I don't think it's too bad. I mean, the new show's good for a quick laugh and destressing if little else. Then again, I'm far too easily pleased and my expectations for the show were pretty minimal to begin with (as in "just be better than Teen Titans Go! or The Looney Tunes Show" minimal, which honestly isn't difficult to exceed). :twilightsheepish:

Anyway, about the story, this feels like a perfect hybrid between Friendship is Magic and Pony Life. It's got the over-the-top humor of Pony Life and the depth of character of Friendship is Magic. Maybe more bronies would have been more accepting of Pony Life if the episodes were more like this story. Good job.

This... could certainly be an episode. Probably not of FIM, but of something

I will have to admit you do have a point they treat Fluttershy like she was a different wholr character or something it's basically Another Teen Titans Go syndrome change the characters for the worse just for a laugh not only that it's not the characters from how we remember them

It seems like the writers of Pony Life ONLY saw the scenes in Dragonshy, Best Night Ever, Putting Your Hoof Down, and Lesson Zero where Fluttershy gets angry and thought, "Oh, Fluttershy is the character that gets angry and goes insane all the time."

What on Earth makes you think that PL's writers ever saw FiM?:derpytongue2:

The way that Flutters goes crazy trying to open the box reminds me of Looney Tunes.
