It's an alternate universe. I can screw with anything I want to make the story. Honestly the only real changes are the complete removal of the wedding, so changelings aren't even know about yet.
And Twilight being an only child. Child or foal works either I think. I just went this way.
Everything else is show accurate.
Flurry will be born in this universe (because with both Princess of Love, and Princess of Friendship working on it, two mares can have a child together. And if not. Then they can always adopt.)
