Pretty much this. If you pay attention to the Protagonist's actions from Saints Row 1 to present he has toned down quite a lot. He was almost purely reactionary in Saints the Third, and depending on player choices displayed mercy and goodwill towards the people. Cleaning up the streets rather than committing acts of terrorism, sparing a foe who has surrendered, etc...
However, he is still a Saint. My personal vision for the protagonist will be slowly revealed more fully tomorrow. He's not a sociopath, but his teeth are sharp.
On a note related to chapter 3, I am still looking for criticism. If anyone at all has complaints or errors to point out I would be grateful if they were voiced.
