Yeah unless Generation 5 continues the story. In my headcanon story Twilight does make Luster an Alicorn and her Successor so that she can pass with her friends. I saw it as the ending is basically repeating the beginning. Luster Dawn was a loophole to Twilight outliving her friends in my eyes.

Here's the question seem to ignore in all of this. It's not whether Luster could be an alicorn (I personally think she could be), but whether she should be.
And I mean that in a rational way. Not because someone is a butthurt fan who doesn't like what the Last Problem showed.

Well I see no reason why she shouldn't. We dont know if alicorns only appear once or twice ever few centuries or something. But let me ask this, what if it were necessary for her to become one? If you've read my story you may recall that Twilight wouldnt be able to wield the magic of friendship once her friends passed away and she'd be useless pretty much.
And something you and a lot of others seem to ignore about Twilight is that she can be a bit crazy. True she overcame that a bit in season 9 but it returned in the finale. Maybe by the time her friends pass she would be stable enough to move on? But I looked at suicide rates by age recently and people in their fifties apparently have higher ones than teens or something. Theres a difference between losing some of your friends or loved ones over time and losing everything to the point it becomes unbearable. And before you use the same little counter about Celestia who's to say she didnt keel her pain hidden? I've done that and if you were to meet me in person you would probably think I'm totally fine when I'm not. Another possibility is that Celestia never actually had real friends and just thinks of everyone as subjects. That could limit her attachment, but she still feels lonely and wanted to make Twilght an alicorn so she wouldnt be so alone. But what if say instead of moving on Twilight got all crazy and turned a dark alicorn like Nightmare Moon?

There's one little hole in this I see. As much as I dislike the Young Six, they showed the Elements of Harmony could be passed down, and there's nothing to say others could not wield them if absolutely necessary.
I also dislike the whole idea Twilight would never make new friends. It goes against everything she is. The girls made new friends outside their circle, and you didn't see Twilight throw a fit about it (What About Discord is 100% her fault, to me). Twilight also had new friends too, and the girls didn't mind.
Celestia is something I wish Hasbro explored more, and is more open to fan interpertation I feel. Because so little was said about her, it leaves plenty to the imagination.
As for Twilight going evil... That could be for any number of reasons. Kind of shocked she didn't in fact in the show.

I do agree with that episode view point. And Twilight is the Princess of Friendship, but as generations go by the citizens of Equestria could possibly see her as more an authority figure than a friend. The other 5 will always be her true friends, but that doesnt mean she is incapable of making new bonds even if they're not the same. Still, might not be strong enough to harness the magic of friendship anymore.

Yes, she takes only unicorns as her students, but she still gives friendship lessons to other races. Although she let the school of friendship take care of that most of the time.
As for Discord, it's just some "easter eggs" I like to put in stories that may be about the future. I feel like it would be fun that people try to find out how some things turned out to be like this. Moreover, I don't give answers because I could still make stories about it, showing how it all happened.
