Ember Blaze and Ember Dawn, two brothers from a firefighting family, have only one goal in life; to become members of the Manehattan Fire Department's prestigious Rescue Company Number 1. For one brother, that dream is about to become reality, while for the other, his journey as a firepony is only just beginning. Along the way, both brothers will learn the reality of being an emergency responder in the largest and busiest city in Equestria- being a firepony means love, brotherhood, friendship, pride. But it also means loss, fear, tragedy and death.

My only issue with this story is that it reads like a series of incident reports. There has been zero character development of the brothers who are supposed to be the main characters. Without that, I’ve got no incentive to keep reading.
I’d recommend a rewrite with this in mind.

There is development in there, and more will, of course, be coming. It's a marathon, not a sprint, after all. I'm not a big fan of chapter after chapter of interpersonal drama- I prefer making it more subtle and general over the course of a story. I understand if you prefer it to be approached the other way, though. Hopefully you'll stick with the story and see what else happens!

All of the terminology, unit designations, ranks, codes and so on are the ones used by the FDNY in real life (10-75 for a working fire, 10-8 means unit available etc). Apart from the Special Operations Battalion which is the Special Operations Command in real life, but I tweaked to allow for the SOB jokes, and the HOOF Truck, which is the FAST Truck in real life, but hey, pony puns!
Several of the incidents featured so far are also based on real life emergencies that have happened in the past (the water tunnel rescue and the Luna fire, which was based on a real fire aboard the USS Constellation in the 60s, for example). There will be more based on real stuff, but also others are just made up by my lunatic mind!
