Long since her days as a schoolyard bully, Silver Spoon has turned into somepony more dedicated to the finer things in life. She's changed a great deal since her foalhood, and so has Ponyville at large. To keep track of this change, and to calm her own romantic aspirations, she writes about the many couples in town, including a most peculiar relationship between a pony and a yak.
A story I wrote for paperhearts, as part of Jinglemas 2019. They asked for Yona and... Silver Spoon? Sure, I can make something with that.

Interesting to see a ship from the perspective of an outside observer.
Interesting way to handle the prompt. Maybe reading too much into it, but it seems like Silver is being presented as asexual / aromantic and is experiencing romance vicariously through her studies of other couples?

I like to think that Silver Spoon does what she does for the same reason shippers do what we do. We like to see romance in action (preferably between people we like). Whether she's asexual or not isn't so much relevant, although I tend to write my characters with the mindset that they're bisexual (because that's what I relate to) unless stated otherwise.

I always got the feeling that Silver Spoon wasn't really a bully, but rather just following the beat of Diamond Tiara's drum, and it seems that this is canon within not only the show itself, but the comics as well, as they both firmly establish that Silver Spoon is the nicer one of the duo.
