10599611 Considering that these are two universes with very different lore sets, it would natural to assume that two laws of magic would be conflicting as well, such as the ability to transform into an alicorn. Because we have two ideas clashing for dominance at the moment, one that's the mind of the show's writers, and one that's the fanfiction author's point of view.
So, when we get two different canons clashing, only one can come out on top eventually. Whichever it is, we won't truly know until later on in the story.
“Tonight, we will attack Manehattan. According to my changelings, there’s an organized group in the city called the Enclave. There is no doubt in my mind that they are what is leftover of Celestia’s pitiful kingdom, and if they truly are a mere remnant, then that means they’re weaker than what I’m used to facing.”
“Didn’t they say something about lasers?” asked Cozy.
“You forget that I have mastered the art of deception,” replied Chrysalis. “We’ll infiltrate their inner circles and take over before they can even fire a single magical blast.”
Chrysalis is in for a surprise as her entire plans fall apart, numbers are nothing when paired against a technologically-superior force. She is planning on fighting against highly-trained Enclave Soldiers armed with Laser Weaponry and Power Armor with nothing but as Kael'thas would put it: "Sticks and Harsh Language". The Enclave has the advantage in this engagement since they know what to look for in a Changeling and probably have devised ways and methods for them at this point to help identify anyone who would infiltrate them. Due to the arrival of Thorax, Study Guide is probably already drilling her officers with Anti-Infiltration protocols along with having the Officers and Soldiers memorize details and history about their partners along with implementing security checks of any and all incoming and outgoing Enclave personnel to make sure that they are who they say they actually are.
10599620 It could be that the events of the Fo:E Timeline and the Main Timeline are synchronous to the same universe, with the only difference being the outcome of an event in the distant past that caused a divergence long before Equestria was created. Some great calamitous war that was lost to history and didn't involve the Ponies in the slightest. I'm busy at work on a story where roughly over 8000 years ago, long before the events of The Hearthswarming that established Equestria, The Diamond Dogs and the Abyssinians dominated most of the southern half of the continent in what would eventually become Abyssinia and Equestria. During the course of the war, the Abyssinians were assisted by their cousins, a species of feline humanoids known as The Saberon: a vicious saber-toothed species that lived within the mountains that separated the Diamond Dogs from the rest of Abyssinia.
What separated the Saberons from the Abyssinians were a combination of their Shamanistic Rituals that allowed the Saberon to commune with the spirits of Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, but also their technological advancement that put them in a degree above their technologically-inferior cousins down the mountain. With the threat of the Diamond Dogs closing in on their territory, the Saberon had activated their deadliest weapon to date to finally end the war in their favor: Nuclear Weapons. Everything that was between Abyssinia and Mount Everhoof was destroyed and blasted apart in nuclear hellfire and caused the few hundred thousands of Diamond Dogs that survived to retreat deep underground to escape the radiation. Because of the highly-irradiated environment, most settlements that were established in what would become Equestria millennia later would completely die out just less than a few years after they were established, leading to the Mainland area being listed by foreign nations as a complete death zone: and because of this, there wouldn't be any sort of Zebra Empire to rise up in the region. There might have been a settlement or a penal colony, but the fact that the radiation would be unbearable would serve to dissuade further settling of the land. The meteor responsible for wiping out the Zebras in the Fo:E Timeline would hit regardless, but there would be no Zebra Nation in the region for it to have affected. Then centuries later when radiation levels have dropped considerably to a point of sustainability, plants and wildlife would slowly reintroduce themselves into the now barren landscape and help jumpstart the ecosystem that would eventually lead to the Ponies from the Three Tribes managing to cross southwards to create Equestria.
Now, why did I exposit thousands of years? Well, it connects with the other outcome of the Abyssinian-Diamond Dog War in the Fo:E Timeline; one where The Saberons were too patient in launching their nukes and ended up blowing apart everything south and southeast of Abyssinia to deny the subjugation and suffering of themselves and the Abyssinians by the Diamond Dog invaders, and to deny them the chance to use the Saberons' vast technological prowess to create an empire. Inadvertently, this destruction would also spread towards Mount Aris and lead to the extinction of the Hippogriffs and why they are absent in the timeline. While the Saberons' managed to wipe themselves and the Abyssinians out, traces of their technology managed to survive in the form of war trophies that were recovered by the Diamond Dogs, but without the infrastructure to help mass-produce them, the weapons only existed on as stories that were passed down over time, eventually being abandoned and later re-discovered by the Ponies leading to the development of Firearms within both Equestria and the Zebra Nation later on.
10603034 You had me for a minute but then you just started talking about your own fic at way more length then necessary. Basically your saying the outcome of a war thousand of years ago effected the ponies just enough to decide wether or not the fallout timeline happened but I think the butterfly effect is way stronger then you seem to. If we were talking about a whole war going different then probably none of the ponies that are born into modern Equestria would exist because their ancestors would have married someone else or died or something so that would wipe out the ministry mares entirely.if anything the change would have been within The second half of Nightmare moons banishment at the earliest but that’s just my opinion.
10603374 While it is possible that some ponies couldn't be born because of an event that happened thousands of years before the major divergence that happened between the Main Timeline and the Fo:E Timeline, there also exists the possibility that the change while major in the long run would turn out to be inconsequential to the events of the story in the "modern day", like how would the Apes feel about us if we somehow vanished from the earth without a trace a few centuries ago?
10603392 That’s a bad example. If the humans stopped existing a few centuries ago the entire world would have been way different by now seeing as hunting would have stopped and that’s the nature of the butterfly effect. If I say tipped the waitress at a restaurant five dollars she would have five more dollars and maybe he would be able to afford those condoms and suddenly someone wasn’t born can all the changes to the world that brings like maybe he would have stolen the girl from someone else stopping a different couple from existing. And all from me tipping the waitress. Now imagine the change from the American civil war going the other way. Stuff would be different and certain people would have died who would have went on to birth political figures and America would still have slaves. In your example the other country is less significant to Equestria but it still interacts and maybe a waitress got tipped and undid Starswirl the bearded
10603412 Or a change in one way proved to be so inconsequential in that certain events that have happened in one iteration still happened the same in your iteration; but with different results and outcomes. I read a fic that delved into this nature where Twilight Sparkle while pursuing after Starlight Glimmer wound up in an alternate timeline where there was literally very little difference to the main timeline in that there was no world-ending catastrophe, no villains running rampant; the only major difference was that in this timeline: somebody else managed to deal with the threats while Twilight Sparkle managed to hatch Spike like normal without gaining the attention of Celestia and afterwards quietly moved down to Ponyville to start a life in the Golden Oaks Library, met her friends, and eventually fell in love with and later married Applejack.
The six of them weren't involved in any sort of harrowing life-or-death adventures or were a part of a destiny: yet they met all the same and became friends.
10603451 That sounds like an interesting story but that’s a lot of change from an event that happens within Twilight’s lifetime (probably) and it’s enough to already not be the fallout timeline because Twilight was in the main six. Now I know you aren’t saying this as more then an example but it only further proves my point.
10608069 This is set approximately one week after Littlepip's adventure. The Enclave are struggling to gain control over any territory they can at the moment. Tenpony Tower is a temporary base of operations. They basically just forced their way in and took control. Calamity will be seen later on, and his absence will be explained.
Yes, he is. He's from another fic of mine, one listed on another site. Though, if you want the link to that fic, you'll need to message me privately.
As for your thing on Starlight, we found that with her previous history of magic, she was considered much too powerful, given her literal abilities to travel through time, banish a chaotic otherworldly entity off a specific range of land, and literally even take the cutie marks and talents from others.
Do not worry. She will get her abilities back in time. And she'll still have her badass moments as well. We wouldn't just take away everything from her.~
10634369 Starlight, regarding her personality, is my favorite pony - along with Derpy -, but she's just too overpowered. I think it was a good idea to make her lose her magic - besides, giving your own part of lore by talking about a Stable with such social experiment, which is cool as hell - since this character could understand that her magic isn't everything, she can learn more things by herself or with Trixie's (or the others') help and advice.
A change of character indeed and a great plot-twist (that's for sure); nonetheless, I must admit it was unexpected, but Fo:E already had many unexpected things and situations - as well as the side-stories made by fans -; now, she has an opportunity to be taught by somepony or some other creature to fight without magic.
Now, about the others...
The Main 6 are gonna feel so bad when they'll discover what their counterparts did, especially Fluttershy and Pinkie. Applejack would know about Steelehooves and, wow!, she'll feel bad for the Fo:E AJ and her correspondent lover. Twilight might go mad for being one of the main responsible for all this to happen; Trixie perhaps will wish to never meet The Goddess, Starlight neither...
Wow, this story promises just too much and I am excited.
can you show us snippets of the mane 6 and Celestia's reaction to seeing one of their ponyville friends turned into something that can isn't fully pony?
Pinkie flinched, reeling back a bit. “Wow. Who put a fish in your toaster compartment?” she sarcastically commented. “Someone needs to call a toaster repair pony.”
Thank you for the update! I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Two in one day!
That's an academy record!
Bit late for that joke, Ponk!

Fairly soon. Don't worry.
