All the black humor and suicide jokes felt a bit out of place. It seemed to me like they were just shoved into the story to be edgy.

But aside from that it’s a good and interesting look inside Applejack’s head.

I'm gonna go with personal taste here, especially considering that the two of them are clearly adults (if you can piece it together, Applejack specifically is 25) and drinking in the barn on some unspecific night. What can I say? I like dark humor.
