This story is a sequel to Undead Robot Bug Crusaders
(Same AU as URBC, but drastically different time period and story tone.)
Long ago, when the world was first created, the great Queen of Ponykind crafted seven tribes in her image, each with an assigned duty to perform, and unique magic to aid them.
Today, there are only three, and a hoofful of what might be regarded as half breeds.
But then, what happened to the other four tribes?
The events prior to the great unification of Hearth's Warming are unclear, and solid evidence has proven difficult to find. But one thing has persisted through out the countless ages that may hold the answers: A series of legends recounting the fates of the lost pony tribes.

Publisher's Note: There are rumors of a prophecy involving "a seed of rebirth" and "a hope slim as a mane hair" regarding the return of the thestrals, but archeologists have not confirmed that these rumors are contemporary with records from the end of the Age of Light.
Gusty was a unicorn in G1. Pony lore can go in some strange directions, like that time G1 Applejack killed a wizard and freed his blind slaves who were now able to see thanks to exploding gems that lodged themselves in their eyes.
Yeah, G1 was weird.
In any case, this looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Well, "fun" may not be the right term, but it's sure to be an engaging read. Looking forward to more.

Aside from short, and probably strange, naming, it is a well-written chapter. Although it sounds a bit serious for a foal to read, don't you think so?
There is another possibility, one that may prove true: the Pony Mother is still fighting off that dark force, but is about to lose...

It was noted that the Thestral Tribe were wiped out by the time Luna went all Nigjtmare Moon for the first time, and that it took a Time Spider biting Babs for full Thestrals to crop up again.

Makes sense for the tribe with the dream / mind-based abilities to know people's hearts.
And their extinction lets the other tribes know their dreams better, than their dreams right after being cleaned by Threstrals.
