Good authors too, who once knew better words, Now only use four-letter words writing prose. Anything goes. :raritywink:

Spike is growing up, and he wants to prove that to his friends, and to himself. As such, step one will be to adopt a pet, and show everyone that he can be responsible. Fluttershy decides to help him pick out the right pet for him.

How much cuteness can one dragon take before he detonates like a bomb?

I'm intrigued... Keep writing.

Oh wait, it's already complete.

This whole thing is just adorable.
I love it!!!

Ignoring the fact that Spike already helped hatch and raise a phoenix and thus has fully shown to be capable and responsible of handling a pet...

This was a very cute slice-of-life story. Everyone was in-character, you went through what a cat needs and how to take of it very well, and, to be honest, Di's personality reminds me of my own cat (the only one in the whole shelter that came right up to me, rubbed up against me, and continued doing so, getting in my way as I headed for the door. Knew then I that the cat was the one for me.) so you get bonus points for that.

The bit at the end where everycreature, including Fluttershy and even Pinkie Pie ends up in a group cuddle is also just plain cute.

Thanks for writing this! We need more cute slice-of-life fic with Spike!

PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL!!!!!

You read the authors note. PM me and we'll talk.:ajsmug:

Very adorable.

I hope this goes better than his last two pets, what with Peewee ditching him offscreen and the sea monkeys evolving and leaving to form a new civilization.

This Fic will do it. My heart. (Blue screen.)
Rip.

Spike nodded and without thinking, did the unforgivable. He stopped scratching the cat. Spike patted the little kitten twice on the head and made to leave the room. The kitten objected strenuously to this turn of events. meowing loudly before reaching out with both forelegs to grab Spike's arm. Eventually, she got a hold of him, and didn't let go as Spike stood. The kitten now firmly attached to Spike's arm, Spike did his best to shake her off, but to no avail. With one more firm and unyielding meow, she made it clear that she wouldn't be going anywhere that Spike wasn't going.

I was expecting that all of my past cats loved doing that to me and a have the marks on my arms to prove it 🤣🤣🤣. It's like a Nemean Lion arm guard.

Daw, this was an adorable short story, Spike adopting a cute kitty? Just warms my heart
