Quite fascinating... we don't have many stories examining this beginning, which is a pity given how neglected it is in canon. This version is similar to my own vague headcanon in generalities, even if it differs in detail.

Cooper? No you must be Sly Cooper the new keeper of the cane. Hoho how I've longed for this!

Gosh, this is FASCINATING! A part of me was hoping for more, I'd love to read what happens next! Well done!

Interesting; thanks for writing. :)

The title made me think of Sly Cooper.

The cliffhanger from Thieves in Time really needs to be resolved.

lovey done but didn't Tirek mention he never met cosy when they visited in Tartarus

Greetings from the My Little Reviews and Feedback group, have a co-op review!

Very nice. As a fellow contestant, I can say this was a deserving win.

Good luck convincing me of that.

LOVELY and NICE backstory, you've earned a like and a fav. also FUCK Ginger and Mulberry 😤

Yes!! I was so excited when I found this story. Their dynamic is one of my favourites from the show and I wish we got more of it. You wrote Tirek’s perspective so brilliantly; there are seeds of him coming to accept Cozy being sewn, but it’s clear she has ways to go before he can really tolerate her. As to be expected from someone like him. Love the backstory you gave Cozy, too. Brief but it tells you everything you need to know about why she is the way she is. I enjoyed this!

Great job on this piece! There is a great sense of maturity in your writing that can only come from years of experience. The style is so precise, but most of all, patient, that it speaks very highly of its author. You had a strict sense of pacing, a strong push and pull of tension and drama as well as character building that is hard to match. Your hard work in this piece definitely shows. Some might think it moves too slow, but I believe it is just right. Hell, I have seen published authors with a lesser semblance of proper style than you, so congratualations.
The exploration of this dynamic was quite fascinating as well, both parties were excellently portrayed and the guesswork for Cozy's background is both parts sympathetic but inexcusable. There is indeed a devious sense of innocence in her that makes her advance towards evil feel very believable, as is her representation as an extremely gifted child. Your Tirek is as dignified and cruel as I like to imagine him, so you got another winner on that front.
Now, this story is not the grandest, most ambitious in its premise, that much is clear. Only for that reason has it not been more celebrated since its publication (you did win a contest with it, and it was very much deserved), but barring that, which is part of the experience, you did great. I really enjoyed this piece, it's of a level of quality that reminds me of the pool of talent that you can still find in this site.
