While visiting Twilight on Hearts and Hooves Day, Shining Armor and Cadance are surprisingly called by the Friendship map to try and settle a serious problem in Ponyville-- a problem that seems to be connected with a mysterious prowler who seems to be interfering with ponies' love lives

Spoiler: No... he is not jealous of Princess Cadance, or her marriage to Shining Armor or any of that stuff this time.

LESSON: There are some things you just can't help or change.

This was a pretty tragic story. And I agree with Courier in way, on not wanting to date Violet, even if she changed, it too late.
A simple sorry, or confessing to the wrongdoings done to him won't change anything.

Some scars last forever.
Pissed off Chrysalis got away with what she did, ruining his life forever, just as expected from the love parasite.

The Courier and Violet thing was inspired by a true story, of a girl getting revenge on a bully who asked her out.

(No surprises, my haters are being assholes again with their down-votes) Pathetic, not to mention hypocritical since they keep yaking at me that they won't care if I ever change. "You did it int he first place, now repent"

...nice to see them crapping on their own sayings

so many dislikes, sorry bruh the disliked story you have, You got ma symphathy:rainbowdetermined2:

After finishing this story, I can say this is genuinely one of the better ones. Courier's problem is a serious one , he tries to make the best of his situation by using his curse to help other ponies and he doesn’t blame others for things that aren’t their faults (hello Helper Soul) .

One could argue that he was rather harsh towards Violet but then again, he has no obligation to forgive her. Still it’s good to see that she tried and succeeded in becoming a better pony. When I first hear about the restraining order I assumed she was secretly some kind of crazy stalker and not a regretful former bully. Which also begs the question how Courier was able to get that restraining order in the first place if she hasn’t done anything that would justify it.

I also felt that his death was a bit unsatisfying. Courier suddenly gives up and does a suicide by cops is a bit strange considering that he was living with this curse for quite a while now. Maybe it was the fear of spending the rest of his life in prison. but that would’ve been very unlikely. After all, this is Equestria we’re talking about. A place where a pony who formed a cult and create several horrible alternative timelines got away with what’s basically a slap on the wrist. So I’m finding it hard to believe that a guy whose worst crime was to temporarily inconvenience ponies by running their manes would be locked up. Community service seems far more likely.

There’s also the fact that Ponyville has no police force. We’ve seen cops in Manhattan, royal guards in Canterlot and a sheriff in Appaloosa. But not one single law enforcement officer in Ponyville during eight seasons. Which makes sense, considering it’s a small little town where everypony knows everypony. So I guess either the mayor or Twilight would be the local law enforcment. Considering that Twilight was the one who “sentenced” Starlight I can’t imagine why she couldn’t be the one judging Courier, too.

It also seems odd that Twilight would sinoky give up after just one day. It’s more likely that she would’ve continued to try finding a solution or maybe even trying to research a cure for the curse. Perhaps try contacting Thorax and the reformed Changelings, if they know something. I don’t think the story necessarily needed a good ending with his curse being broken but I feel like there should’ve been a better explanation than “Can’t be undone. Point!”.

The ending, however, I liked. Cadence trying to continue his work felt like an appropriate bitter sweet ending.

So to sum this story I up: I liked the character of Courier and the curse was an interesting idea. Ponyville having a police force felt odd and such a harsh punishment seems extremely unlikely. Violet was an interesting character but I would’ve seen a bit more of her, like her reaction to Courier's death. There should’ve been a better explanation of the curse and why it’s so hard to break. The ending was good and I liked that it was rather bittersweet.

So as I said, this is one of the better Friendship is Failure story and I'm giving it a thumbs up. I hope future Friendship is Failure characters are more like Courier and less like Helper Soul.

Um... he blamed Cadance.

It said she WAS following him around and constantly asking to date him! (seriously... can't you people read?!)

the penalty for harassment in real life can be up to 12 years in county jail.

As for Courier's death, I was running out of word space for the entire fic, had to kill him off quickly. He was going to die no matter what.

There’s also the fact that Ponyville has no police force. We’ve seen cops in Manhattan, royal guards in Canterlot and a sheriff in Appaloosa. Because Twilight is not a LAWFUL or POLITICAL Princess. she does not truly make laws, run the country or collect taxes. She is not a REAL Princess... it is just an honorary title

It also seems odd that Twilight would sinoky give up after just one day. It’s more likely that she would’ve continued to try finding a solution or maybe even trying to research a cure for the curse. (FAILURE TO READ Count) (3)

Your failure to your read is staggering! Twilight never said she was giving up, she said she couldn't find a known cure, and even if she could, I'm not giving her the chance... COURIER WILL DIE!! end of story!

So to sum this story I up: I liked the character of Courier and the curse was an interesting idea. Ponyville having a police force felt odd and such a harsh punishment seems extremely unlikely. Even small counties have sheriffs, police, and jail houses.

Some curses are one-way deals. Once they're cast... that's it!

So as I said, this is one of the better Friendship is Failure story and I'm giving it a thumbs up. I hope future Friendship is Failure characters are more like Courier and less like Helper Soul.

Don't hold your breath... Courier was a wimp, and didn't scold Cadance and Twilight enough... he deserved to die for showing how weak he is!

Um... he blamed Cadance.

Yes, but he genuinely believed that it was Cadance fault that he was cursed. And once he learnt that it was Chrysalis who was responsible he stopped blaming her for it. Also being cursed to either never find true love or die is also a very good reason to be upset. If he was holding a grudge against her for not going to the prom with him or eating the last cucumber sandwich in the school cafeteria it would be a different matter.

FAILURE TO READ Count (1)

It said she WAS following him around and constantly asking to date him! (seriously... can't you people read?!)

All she said was that she was trying to talk to him and tell him how she feels. That hardly sounds like a stalker to me.

the penalty for harassment in real life can be up to 12 years in county jail.

True, but that’s usually for the most serious offenders. Again, all Courier did was ruin the manes of others. He didn’t beat them up or anything like that.

Also Equestria isn’t the real world. For all we know their laws are different. We’ve seen people getting away with a slap on the wrist for far worse crimes. So I seriously doubt that he would’ve even gone to jail.

Because Twilight is not a LAWFUL or POLITICAL Princess. she does not truly make laws, run the country or collect taxes. She is not a REAL Princess... it is just an honorary title

That's not how it works in the show. Twilight is pretty much a real princess and not a honorary one. Nowhere is it said that you have to run a country or collect taxes to be a real princess. I don’t think taxes were even mentioned in the show, so for all we know taxes don't exist in Equestria.

And when Celestia und Luna disappeared at the start of Season 4, Twilight was put in charge and not someone like Blueblood. This all makes it pretty obvious that she's a real princess and has some authority even if she’s not ruling anything.

Even small counties have sheriffs, police, and jail houses.

Again, this is not the real world and things in Equestria may be different. Even in the real world not every town has a sheriff or police department. Yes each county has one, but a county usually includes several towns and cities.

So the guards in Canterlot are probably the ones responsible for maintaining the law in Ponyville. They don’t have a presences in the town because there’s isn’t much crime going on but would respond to a (for the lack of a better word) call. The Season 8 final seems to support this since Neighsayer arrives with Luna, Celestia and ton of Royal Guards from Canterlot but not a single police officer.
