Yes, the rest of the mane six will show up by the end of the first story arc, and will all have a stake in the main plot going forward (tho of course Appledash will remain the central focus).

Fluttershy is a medic, yes. The Chemist class teaches the basics of magic and how to make useful items like potions (though Fluttershy's only interested in learning to heal, because she's Fluttershy).
Incidentally, Rarity and Pinkie will be introduced during this upcoming arc.

I'm aware that this is old and discontinued, but still, I was amazed to find that someone had a similar idea as mine! I had an idea something like this, also Appledash, but never got around to writing it (yet). So far I'm really enjoying it.
