at this point don't really care about anything other than two things, not that the tales of feather weight dealing with his developing body isn't interesting. Its just that two facts are bothering me and pretty much overshadowing a colt stumbling through problems with his balls on the line.
1. what is the real reason why his dad was imprisoned cause from the way his mom is acting it sounds like it was consent. 2.what is the real reason this equestria is like this other than the working hypothesis that ponies got stupid and wanted to doom their race.
10157982 1) She was raped. The story is explicit about that. Being raped doesn't mean she supports gelding her son.
2) The story is pretty clear about that too. Celestia determined at some point that there would be fewer murders and rapes if they gelded the stallions, and she'd gone nuts after Luna was imprisoned in the Moon. After a period of turmoil during its implementation, the statistics on murder and rape dropped enough for her to justify the Act, and ponies just started viewing it as normal. This took a couple of centuries, of course. (At least, this is what ponies are taught and what the history books say. Only Celestia knows for sure because nopony else was there.)
10157997 in hindsight, I realized that She didn't have a say in the matter when she was raped and decided to make the best of a bad situation instead of staying negative. I can also see how she would be supportive of her son since his situation is kind of like hers as Feather doesn't particularly have a say in the matter in regards to doing something he clearly doesn't want to do based on his desperate attempts with that feather.
Interesting chapter, I wonder if Feather Weight will try to get those any testosterone pills? Well I wonder why his mother openly admitted that she wouldn't want to have him gelded, does it have anything to do with his father?
Yet another extremely uncomfortable read. Everything that should be new and exciting to this young colt, like finding out about sex and getting your first crush, only brings him dread because of what happened to him. But it's extremely well-written stuff and thoroughly gripping.
I very much enjoy the character of Feather's mom. She seems calm, supportive and objective, and despite what she's been through, has her moral compass intact.
On the subject of intact, the descriptions of what puberty does to a stallion is much exaggerated.
Me at Chapter One: “This is horrible!! Balls are precious things that need to be protected and coddled and cuddled at all cost. This Equestria is dark, twisted dystopian nightmare!”
Me at Colt Talk Chapter: Honestly, Featherweight needs to grow an extra extra pair of balls and kiss Rumble already. The will they / won’t they is more torturous than the nut cutting thing.
Yeah, it's getting too much for me now. I was regarding it like a smart sci fi or fantasy where it tackles difficult concepts through a fantastic lens so topics are a bit easier to swallow and debate. It was good, even if the world was awful.
The latest spat with Thunderlane and to an extent Skeedadle's mother though is crossing a line. There's only so much you can deal with in one narrative and constantly pushing for even higher levels of discomfort is dangerous because it can go way too far. Especially when you start mixing issues through a fantastic lens then drop the lens entirely for what is probably the most disturbing topic there is.
For me, that was it. Up until then it was pretty thought provoking stuff, even if pretty horrible.
10396628 That's okay, because been around long enough that 5 months isn't a long time to me. Which now that I think about a little more closely is kinda scary. Don't worry about it - not even about yourself. You do what you need to live and deal with suffering.

This is a narrative that they're taught in school. How true it may be is not immediately clear.
That said, sex isn't just about sexual drive. A sex drive leads one to develop interests in sexual activity that usually persist to an extent even when the drive is absent, as well as to changes in one's opinions about activities formerly seen as grotesque. So in a way, puberty does change people irreversibly, both physically and mentally. The suggestion that it "poisons" a colt is a separate value judgment tied to the aforementioned narrative.
9163211 I see this was never responded to, which kind of surprises me. Just to be clear, the classroom discussion is at a foal's level. Nearly everything you mention is discussed in future chapters in detail, and Cheerilee is speaking from what the history books say (whether or not the books are accurate is another thing entirely).

awesome and nice chapter, you are doing good work ^^

the entire concept of this story gives a lot to think and speculate about right ^^

Huh, well you learn something every day.
I didn't get any for my surgery, but it was fairly minor.
Dang this situation is fucked up, bit at least Feather has a really good mom.
I'm happy that this story still gets updates.

It's been five months since the last update, but that's been due to my medical problem.

This story is now under "new" management.
