This story is so good and it's only the second chapter. Gotta say again, can't wait for more.
Also I just wanted to point out something. During the feeding scene, Firelight said the word "aeroplane". I'm not exactly caught up in the mlp series and I haven't watched the show in awhile so I don't know if you meant airplane or if aeroplane is something in mlp. I feel kinda dumb for not knowing but if you did mean airplane, they don't have them in the show (to my limited knowledge). You could use the word "chariot", "pegasi", or "friendship express" in the place of that word but that's just my opinion.

This is a super-ultra-awesome story! I feel you've captured Fire Light and Starlight quite well. Starlight's protests along with her father's determination to make up for lost times definitely mix well.
The dialogue between the two is certainly my most enjoyed part of the story. What happens is great but their verbal exchanges, along with Starlight's thoughts, really make this tale a win!
Looking forward to more. Also I am glad you didn't use the inhibitor ring. The way Starlight protested it was not only a good addition to the story but also makes you think such artifacts might be used to help foals who are having trouble with their magic. :)

Hmm I don’t think starlight would be agiainst hoof painting or just crayons. I wonder if he can sneak a raspberry into her tummy. Maybe let her build a pillow fort

Still a ultra-adorable story. Fire Light is definitely loving his chance to get back that lost time and it seems that maybe Starlight is, too. Perhaps all those years of trauma from Sunburst leaving made her deeply wish to truly go back to a happier time? When she wasn't alone nor felt that need to always assert herself?
Knowing there is only one chapter left certainly leaves a lot open to the imagination. Let's see how it all ties in as we finish out the week. :)
*Applauds* Very well done story! The ending was perfect. Nothing unbelievable nor over-the-top. The keeping of the onesie was an adorable way to give a 'wink' to her doting dad who wishes he could forever have his "Little Star". Fire Light may be a dad who wishes he could always protect and care for his 'Punky-Wumpkin' but at least he has her back in his life after so many years of her being gone.
Maybe Starlight may be able to get Rarity to make something a little less 'foalish' to keep her warm at night? Makes for a fun after thought.
