For the record, shit has been busy for me today but I have written more in Two Mantles.
To be honest, my idea for it was kind of like Halo Infinite, but with Fred and some OCs instead of the Chief. Maybe some other Spartans, too, but the problem with using canon characters is that they're easy to screw up, when people expect OCs to be screwed up already. Either way, progress was made today.

Thanks for reading! Yeah, I couldn't get enough of the Clone Wars either. I really like Bad Batch so far, too, and I decided to come up with my own clones and droids and make a story for it. This is for fans of the show, first and foremost. And yeah, it's important to show that the droids are more than just mindless robots in a Star Wars story. They've always had at least a little personality of their own.
I imagined the Crab Droids from Episode 3 like shining things, sort of like the way hermit crabs adorn their shells with things. My idea was that the Crab Droids find bits of metal and debris and weld it to themselves as additional armor. Anyway, thanks for reading again, more surprises in store!

Well, the clones are my OCs, original characters AND original clones. Created them just for this story and Battlefront 2. And other stuff. I also have a few Separatist pony OCs but otherwise, gonna keep it to a minimum.

Indeed, the Empire was not all bad and that's shown elsewhere as well. Some people genuinely think that the Empire's ruthlessness was merited, that the order they established was worth the liberty they gave up. And we all give up some amount of liberty to live in a society with order. The Empire just went too far.
It's just a fact of life that there is no perfect system of government. In America, we were taught that our government has a balance of power to prevent tyranny and corruption. But now, we've come to realize that the system did not stop corruption; it only slowed it down. People are imperfect, and the relationships and things we create and do will also be imperfect. But we must keep trying, keep pressing onward and improving. Even a dictatorship can be benevolent and even a democratic representative republic can be corrupt and tyrannical.
Still, I'm a pro-Republic guy and this story won't have the Empire in it.

I do like republic too. its just...the staging. You see, I wrote my story when I first go here and given how Palpatine directs how the clone wars go, I could not imagine how Equestria could fit I there without complications, or later problems, you know?

Yes, they're going to be in this story. We're going to see Kota's proto-rebels before the Empire's rise and how effective they are. I was always interested what Anakin would think of them so we're going to explore that.
The idea so far is that Equestria is extremely remote in an area of space that even time doesn't behave the same way in, allowing a lot of things to happen. Getting reinforcements for either side is not easy and neither is communications; nothing is reliably stable.

I imagine Kota's Militia was likely the Rebel Alliance before the Rebel Alliance was formed, as was the intention, but we didn't see how well they functioned in the Clone Wars. In essence, it's like examining how well the Rebels would fair against the CIS.
The Rebels' guerrilla tactics make them one of the most effective fighting forces in the Star Wars galaxy. Considering maintaining a faction on a galactic scale takes immense logistics and resources, sabotaging it becomes easier. Size becomes more of a disadvantage than an advantage until they are eventually toppled. The Republic Commandos, Storm Commandos and even the First Order in the sequels utilized disruptive, small-unit tactics and acts of sabotage to knock the legs out of larger opposition. The Rebels were the best at it and in many ways, the Rebellion started with Kota, and even earlier with Havoc Squad.

yeah, i mean, their uniforms looked very similar to the later rebel infantry and the idea of a private force created to fight for a government, that's a pretty unique idea they had back then

I unlocked everything, got all the achievements in a couple days except Marshal Commander and NOW they broke the Awards and Medals so I don't even have all my cool weapons or my Technician bonus which makes vehicles more viable against chip damage. I am waiting for them to fix it, hoping they do very, very soon.

Unfortunate and a missed opportunity. If the language can be changed, it should apply to all language in the game and lines, not just the ones considered important. Yet another thing modders could fix and probably have, with more faithful care and attention to detail than the actual devs that won't.
