A lot of things happened to Twilight. But sometimes the change is so big, that your life will never be the same again.
Of course, these kind of changes aren't that rare for Twilight. In fact only one was had made her loose her footing.
But now, a huge new change in her life is about to happen.
The story runs as if the finale of season seven (Shadow Play 1&2) don't exist.
Includes species change, bad bugs, good bugs, awkward moments, egg laying.
Also the only 'reformed' hive in this story will be Thorax's. (No rainbow colors. Thorax is the only moose (Sorry to Thorax fans))

very good. While I could accept some of the new changelings, I was dissapointed and even hated how Thorax looked.
1. Thorax didn't had to be the new king just because he was the first to want to change, it could have been that he just helped a new Queen or king to grow and getting a very good funtion because he helped the new king/queen into existence (I'm talking about the transformation)
2. That and I don'T like Raindeer Thorax or that kind of bug he makes me think of.
Well the story is alright so far, I might have some wishes for potential adjustments to the story later, but you can decide if you want to react on that or not.

You could argue about when a downvote is justified or when not, but it is funny how easy one can get a downvote. If I write something what I could consider a better reason for someone to hate my comment or opinion, then I never get a downvote.
If I write something like "I like coffee and Fluttershy", then I get at least 1 - 4 downvotes.
I mean I just dislike Starswirls because I disliked him for a certain reason when only the first three or four seasons existed and Starlight wasn't created.
Back then most of the authors reacted like there could never exist a unicorn that has even half of his abilities or power for some stupid reason. (Of course there could be someone that is at least somewhat strong or on his level).
Now since he existed I was kind of affraid of what that would mean, if that shit was going to happen again or not.
Then again, at least Starlight exist and should give an easy reason for why a unicorn oc or other Unicorn character could grow into a strong character.

Not sure if I get the meaning behind your uhhhhmm....hint, but so far it sounds like I would love it.
Just make sure to please don't make them that one type of changelings. (I mean yes sex can be a form to get love, but it shouldn't be the only way in my book.
Sometimes I even enjoyed the changelings being able to draw different emotions too, just that they really don't get much out of it.
The last thing is, my opinion on them laying eggs was, that they only need a partner for princess eggs and love for normal changelings. As normal as this may be for bees and whatever bug, I don't want the changeling queen to get laid by the whole hive to create more changelings. (like everyone is everyones dad or something).
That is just not how I view relationships in books and I dislike most harem and certain types of herd stories.

I'm only slightly dissapointed to see the changed Thorax here, but I'm probably forgetting something from the decription and I think you told me something about it in an earlier comment.
I'm curious do you make them view her as a mother to?, secretly or them being open about it?
Then I wanted to ask, are they random egg layers? I thought they might be able to control it if they want, at least to stop it till it is safe and all that stuff. That is probably something that makes them dangerous for others as well when they only keep producing more Changelings that need to eat. I guess it depens on how they get their love which I probably already asked and you mentioned it to me.
The start made it sound like Twilight should help them to reduce the amount of Changeling hives and get the nice ones under her control or at least making clear that she is the alpha queen or whatever, to ensure that she could prevent a disaster and keep herself and her friends safe.

I bet in the beginning it is some sort of rushed egg laying thing that could have waited for a while.
Maybe I would think different about it if I would read the whole thing again, but right now I'm slightl annoyed by them trying to "make her" into what they think is a proper Changeling Queen.
I think something similar happened in another story, it is to soon for my liking and I don't care in chase this is some sort of "but the bees do that too" kind of thing or something like that. I just hope that she isn't endlessly producing out of control.
I don't know what exactly isn't to my liking about the egg laying thing, maybe the memorie of the other storie and partly the feeling that this could get out of hand.
I don't remember if that is her hive right now and if Chrysalis is dead or if she is still there.
If Chrysalis is still alive I would say that maybe Twilight should get a small but special lay in total for now and not over 500 hundreds or something.
If she is the current Queen since Chrysalis is alive, then I don't mind but I would still prefer it if there isn't a "three weeks and 300 baby changelings later" timeskip.
I mean I kind of like to think that the egg laying is either controlled a little bit by the queen after she got her first nessecary eggs that probably every Queen get's to start a new hive. It could be that every queen lays around 50 eggs to have the necessary cast to do basic hive stuff and then if she "needs" more her biology would allow her to create more eggs with either love or with time.
I'm not looking at any facts, I just think if she basically owns that hive she doesn't exactly needs to double it and overrun Equestria with an overpopulation of Changelings.
Long story short, I would prefer it if she is doing her own thing with her brood and that maybe some of them are going to play a bigger role in the story, even if the role should just be playing her daugther/display model to her friends.
The chapter itself was good enough, I would have a Changeling story with some informations about how the hive in that story is supposed to work that I really liked when you want to take a look at it. Since I only have a rough idea what this was about, I needed to say again what I kind of expect of it, maybe if I would remember the rest it would make more sense to me right now, but well here are my current thoughts on the matter.
