I see people two ways who they are and who they can be.

I hope this journal is found by someone with an open mind. For what you read is entirely true. The sketches and photographs held within these pages will substantiate all of it. I only wish for the world to know the truth and understand why all of us have chosen to do what we did.

This story will not follow canon for the most part.

The CMC, Spike, and Barb are aged up.

So, this is a couple of months before the first world war ( 1914-1918 ), yes?

And is it really a "good idea" to give guns to the primitive ponies?

I believe you mean, 'voila'. A viola is a string instrument.

The First World War began towards the end of July, so likely.

We don’t know HOW primitive they are, for all we know they HAVE discovered Blackpowder and it’s uses, but any research has been forbidden/slow/underfunded/etc and now seeing the results that could come might jump them ahead.

People use the “Primitive” excuse a good amount, but being “Primitive” is only relative to the eyes of the more advanced. To a species that has fusion reactors and laser weapons, another species with rail guns and advanced Nuclear reactors would be “Primitive”

A good example would be Star Treks “Prime Directive” which labels species without Warp Capability as “too primitive” to contact or in some cases save. Doesn’t matter how advanced they are, they can be building Dyson clusters but without Warp they are “Primitive”.

Wait, didn’t the term COME from that instrument?

Yeah, I know about Star Trek's Prime Directive, the word "Primitive", and the many good reasons behind it. Thanks to explain them in detail by the way.

Look, I just don't want the Pony Guards, Scientists, or even Celestia to get any "ideas" with the confiscated Guns.

You two seem to forget that humans during 1910 to 1920 had the phonograph, not Vinyl scratch's sound system. They only had incandescent lights, not lasers and strobes. I can not remember which episode it was but I'm sure I saw a crate of dynamite so the ponies did have black powder and history shows weapons advancements are always made during times of war, not peace. Equestria has had over a thousand years of peace.

Voila is the French word for 'here is', derived from the Latin 'videre' Viola is an Italian word of no relation, despite the similar spellings.

Oh we know, but the show has been canonically inconsistent with technology!

I mean they have Hot Air Balloons, yet no vehicles? They have a Steam Train, yet they are still using Sailing Ships?

So yeah, unless you establish an in-universe technological point of reference, the best we can do is speculate! :pinkiehappy:

The title makes it seem like this is a Jurassic Park crossover. Is this true?

Interesting beginning I can't wait to see what snap

Not to mention that we'll completely overlook and totally ignore the Stargate that's disguised as a mirror, the broke-dick TARDIS towering over in the middle of the Crystal Empire, AND the functioning temporal portal in the Canterlot Library--we mustn't let anyone at Cheyenne Mountain or Gallifrey find out about those unauthorized operations.... :trollestia:

No, it won't have a single dinosaur, dragons but no dinos.
