My name is Prince Blueblood. Yes, that Prince Blueblood, and I'm sure you've all heard the tales. The stories. After all, I did save Equestria. And discover priceless lost treasures beyond imagining. And defeat the mighty Crack Shot in a duel. And, well, like I said, you've all heard the stories.
Hate to break it to you: they're just that. Stories.
But if there's one thing that I am good at, it's telling stories. So sit down, colts and fillies, for the tale of greatest lie ever told, about the greatest pony ever to live. And let me tell you; it's one heck of a ride.

Really, I see a lot of similarities between Prince Blueblood and Flashman (or Flashpony, if you saw the reference in chapter 2), and I've always wanted to read a fic that explored those similarities. That's not to say that they are exactly the same, and I will be changing things, but yes, I did get a fair amount of inspiration from the series.

I noticed mostly as I love the Flashy books but also because I'm running my own fanfic along similar lines. Though in a more biographical than memoir style. The series is based on the BUCK convention mascot but I suppose Britannia is more of an Horatio Hornblower than a Harry Flashman
I've already had some thoughts towards throwing a pompous and cowardly Prince Blueblood in there at some point though in exactly the same Flashman-style role so seeing yours up here gave me the weirdest feeling

Honestly, from what I can gather, he doesn't mean half the things he thinks, and doesn't think through half the things he says. His aunts are right, he's sort of an overgrown man child. Interestingly enough, I do think he might forgive them relatively quickly. Not that it's their fault really, but still, that's the other side of Blueblood's impulsive nature. Unless I completely misinterpreted his character- in that case, things could get ugly...

The thing is, I have a tendency to massively over-edit the things I write. Therefore, unless I promise myself that I won't go back and edit until I've written the whole chapter, I end up writing a thousand words and subsequently removing eight hundred of them.
And, to make things worse, whenever I do then finish the piece, and go back to edit, I find myself doing exactly the samething - removing everything, and replacing it twenty times. Thus, most of chapter posts are made at three in the morning before I can convince myself that I should "just move round these sentences a little". Unfortunately, that means I miss things sometimes - I promise to check back at some point and correct it.
