After his previous visit to the human world, Reala informs his master, Wizeman The Wicked of the Equestrian Magic residing in there. Due to this, Wizeman has Reala take Rarity and transform her into one his servants. Under his control, Rarity steal the 7 Chaos Emeralds into the Dream world, forcing her friends to come after as they travel towards it. There, they go on a journey through the dreams aided by NiGHTS, a reformed Nightmaren against Wizeman

Yeah I can't really defend them on that account.
I'm honestly fine with them because I feel a lot of Sonic villains have that problem. Black Doom is your typical alien Overlord and Erazor despite having a good backstory has a typical mustache twirling villain personality. I just feel the deadly six have a bit more personality and good lines than them and espescially the monster of the week villains that popped out. Though I will say Infinite definitely has my attention and might bump them off my top 5 favorite sonic villains.

Yeah that seems to be one factor for a lot of fans not liking them. I just don't get why they get singled out for having one note personalities when a lot of other sonic villains have them.

Well the title is kind of a spoiler. I thought Rarity was going to stay Nightmare Rarity.... despite reading stories taking place after this where she was normal, but that could have been pony Rarity.
Really good scene with Silver's dream and nightmare. Rarity if you kept your mouth shut and you would have had him.

Ok so Manic is sleeping in a dream world. Is he dreaming? What would that be like. Would it be like inception where it's a dream within a dream? Is the dream Manic running around Nightopia while Manic is sleeping?

That was a fun story. I honestly don't have much to say other than that so sorry.
The only problem I have is that you referred Nights as he and they multiple times. I feel you should probably choose one to be more consistent.
Oh another thing is that there was no dualizing in this story. Would have been interesting to see Nights do that with some of the Sonic or Mlp characters.
