This is a great start. I can't wait for more:pinkiehappy:

Yeah I agree with lord of the binary over there. Really good start, loved just about every part of it.

I laughed really hard about the sex-demon bit, that's a humorous alternative to humans just being scary monsters.

Ah mechanical drawing, alas we all have to learn it's annoyingly arcane ways. Tell me, are you versed in the ways of the machine? What branch of engineering do you follow?

8119090

Yeah, the sex demon bit was a bolt from the blue. It hit me when I tried to say "imp" during a DnD session and accidentally said "chimp" instead. And chimps, bonobos, and humans are all very closely related. It all kinda rolled from there.

As for mechanical knowledge, I mostly know hands on kinda stuff, automotive for sure and a bit of aviation. The human in this story was a bit of a child prodigy, though, and knows a lot more than me.

Ah I see, I am much the same, got my A&P certificate a few years ago. Though engineering is sort of a hobby of mine. Good luck with the next chapter man.

Neat premise, I look forward to the next one.

Your comment was so upbeat and effervescent that, reading it first thing in the morning, I'm sure I can skip coffee today. :pinkiehappy:

But, I can't take credit for 'two birds with one scone' thing. That's actually said by Princess Cadence during the Crystalling. I think.

I like this, will wait for more

Like n fav'd

Since I'm not seeing the AU tag here, can we safely assume her encounter and eventual friendship with Trixie will still take place? I'm also looking forward to the awkwardness when Celestia hears of what Twilight's done.

Mesa likey. Mesa want more.

GIVE ME MORE OF THIS STORY!!! RAAAAAAH! :flutterrage:

No, but in all seriousness, great start! I can't wait to see more. This whole "Human isn't really liked by ponies" thing is a fresh perspective. Most HiE stories include either the human being pretty good friends with the ponies, except for a short period of ignorance, or ponies and humans actively at war or at direct hostilities.

It's refreshing, really.

Though I think Henry should attend the dinner just to spite Twilight. I'd love to see the look on her face.

8120238

Yes. It'll happen in a chapter or two, but probably offscreen. Trixie is tagged in this story for a reason and will be a (somewhat) major part of this story.

Things will slowly diverge from Season 6, Episode 6 as the story progresses.

8120265

He will be attending, and it's going to be a shit storm to end all shitstorms.

Isn't that nice, she made a friend and got her world view skewed. :rainbowkiss:

Now I fear for our MC, this is the kind of chaos humans create, the turbulent tide of change, not by force or laws but by words.

This is actually quite good !! I only hope that he have some back bone and don't get all the shit from the pony and ask please can I have some more and bow downd an lick there's hooves.

This is very good. A nice diamond in the sea of... well, it's nice to see a good story!

I look forward to seeing more of this.

Just don't let the political views expressed herein turn you off from the story. Please? :fluttercry:

Well man, those political views make this story even more desirable for me. Very good chapter. This chapter earned my fav.

I hope that a type of Logic Chess will get involved.
(If you do not get it, it is from Gyakuten Kenji 2, better known as Ace Attorney Investigations: Prosecutor's Path)

8123761

OBJECTION!!!

This court will not allow the presentation of additional evidence in this case. :derpytongue2:

Talking about politics gives a story more depth to me, thus making is more interesting to read. You done good.

8123777
I fail to see the reason why not. Objection overruled.:derpytongue2:

Nooooooooooo! I have to wait! Again!

Ah well.

Still doing great bro! Keep it up!

(Also, I'm finally reaching the point where I'm tracking enough stories to have a new chapter for something every day, so that's a plus.)

Snap my friendo!
Ya go me hooked damn it. 10/10 enjoying this story, your take on Equestrian society is rather... Different. A good different, I like all of this :raritystarry:
Henry does come across a little... Stoney? Quite hard? I guess it's a slightly jarring learning a character with such a background established before hand. Still enjoy him though, especially now that he's already softening up to Glimmer

Wait...

So his version of humans actually are demons? Or well, at least not ya'know 'US'. I'm intrigued.

I don't really have much of an opinion on the political stuff in the chapter sept for a general agreement on all points. It does indeed really seem like the USA has turned against men in general and also whites. That's a bad state of affairs for everyone really.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter, it's gonna be a good one! I can feel it in me bones.

The version of humans in this story are regular humans with no magic. Since the first two chapters were told from Starlight's perspective (even if it was in third person format), she equated his hands with Spike's claws and referred to them as such.

Humans are an evolved form of Chimpanzee, or a Chimp for short, which is similar in pronunciation to our word 'Imp', which is a type of dumb but mischievous demon. And I can't recall seeing any chimps or monkeys in the series. As Succubi and Incubi are evolved mid-level demons, and humans are evolved Chimps, and Chimps are the Equestrian version of Imps, humans would be seen as a mid-level demon. Add in actual magic and summoning and mystical binding contracts, and you have demon summonings where all the demons are based on primates.

Also, human men really do emit pheromones in our sweat, and they really do turn women on in the week before and during menstruation. Haven't you ever had a girlfriend who wanted to keep a shirt or a pillowcase because 'it smells like you'? Pheromones. I just decided that it should make ponies aroused, except during estrus. If only to explain why pony demon summoners classified humans as the equivalent to Succubi and Incubi.

As for the politics, I'm shooting for a rather neutral stance with a slight Classical Liberal leaning. I'll leave my personal political view out of the discussion.

8126517

More or less the exact response I was looking for. :trixieshiftleft:

As one who likes dining with good company, one of my greatest miffs, is a ruined dinner :T

8126544

True, but that's kind of what I wanted to point out. All the beings she made friends with (except for Discord) were ponyesque. Zecora, Thorax, the Yaks from YakYakistan, even Gryphons are at least quadrupedal. And even after Fluttershy reformed Discord, Twilight was very suspicious of him for the rest of the season. It wasn't until after Tirek that she started to trust him.

Hay, I get the feeling that she only trusts Spike because she raised him from his hatching.

And then a human gets tossed into Ponyville, isn't erased by the Elements, and makes ponies act like they are under a Want-It-Need-It spell? Not a good first impression.

I'm also taking a pretty literal translation of the show. When multiple sapient species exist in Equestria but the ponies all say 'everypony', that seems to me like a KKK member going around saying 'everywhite'. It just seems a little xenophobic.

Also, have you noticed how the only times the Mirror World is ever mentioned is during the Equestria Girls movies, but never in the main show? I'm taking that literally. In other words, Equestria Girls is an AU of the main FIM universe. As such, Twilight would never have encountered a human before, and would never have been one herself.

"Either way, I'm proud of you, Sunset,"

:trixieshiftright:

Half joke/honest question: If the ponies get nuts from the pheromones in his sweat, how would they respond to the likes of Salazzle and UB-02 Beauty (Pheromosa)?

8126566
To be fair, Discord has history.

The only reason she probably wasn't as suspicious of Luna is because sister of Celestia and Celestia was fine accepting her back.

Dragons are largely unknown to ponies and the few times we did see them they felt kind of hostile to ponies (though that was mainly "teenage" dragons).

We haven't really been around many other species long enough to see if they have any verbal ticks like "everypony" though taking away and potential prejudice connotation it is still pretty dumb.

Either way, I'm proud of you, Sunset," Twilight continued

Was this supposed to be Starlight? Or was she reaffirming the time to expect the guest?

I highly think Henry wouldn't ever forgive any of the ponies, especially Twilight and Celestia for making him an outcast for like four or five years. :ajbemused: It wasn't his fault that Discord suddenly plucked him out of his Earth world and into Equestrian ground territory. Though I really would like to see every pony get miserable in Ponyville and also to see Henry, Starlight Glimmer, and Trixie as good trio friends that won't take it anymore of being stomped on from anyone or anything too long, just for being different. :pinkiecrazy:

*sighs* That would be a good time in my mind...

8126647

8126747

Good catch you two. It was supposed to be Starlight. It's fixed now.

8126714

Not sure. I based the ponies reaction to human pheremones on women's reaction to men's pheremones, but thanks to the ponies different hormone balance and much more sensative noses, they react to them differently. Biologically speaking, if they react at all is an evolutionary coincidence. Mostly, it's creative license.

As for those pokemon, if they could tailor pheremones to cause certain effects, it would work like a low grade mind control, I'd suspect.

8126790

Well, at first it was the ponies being far too friendly and a touch rapey, but once Henry learned about the scent-blocking soap and started using it (which will be explained better later on in the story) the pony's natural aversion to predators and strange beings, namely the instinct to avoid them, came to the fore. Ever since, he's been mostly ignored. Not attacked, not hunted down by mobs with torches and pitchforks, not abused or ridiculed on a daily basis, just ignored. Like that one kid in highschool that no one seems to want to talk to, eventually gets bitter and withdrawn but (usually) doesn't end in a school shooting. Even if a person could just 'deal with it' and keep living, that desire for companionship never really goes away. But neither does bitterness.

The mane 6 will eventually get his forgiveness, but the road there will not be quick or easy.

8126745

You make some good points, and yes, it is quite an exaggeration to say that 'everypony' has xenophobic connotations. But that's no more discriminatory than saying fireman instead of firefighter. It's a small thing to be sure, but the common usage of a word singling out a group and excluding others can imply a certain degree of prejudice.

Now, neither I nor Henry are going to go full SJW and start policing language. That's just ridiculous. But using a common phrase as an example of a social mindset in a species with an inherent and strong herd mentality? Especially to explain why they are at least a little xenophobic? Well, call it creative license.

8127197 You make a good point, but still it'll actually be more harder for the main 6 to earn forgiveness from Henry since both Starlight and Trixie didn't know that Henry visited Ponyville, like no pony never mentioned him to them or even bothered to check up on him if he's even alright from a bad weather problem or being hunted down by predators out in the wilds or probably in the forest.

After he got rammed to the wall i was shure like every other hie story he was going to apologise for being human an crawl on all 4 to ask for forgiveness. But no he actually add a real human reaction and got out of there . Wow I raise my hat to you !

I was expecting a worse outcome honestly. This is rather tame, all things considered.

Still, a good read. I look forward to what comes next!

Another primo friggin chapter <3
Love it

I love Henry's characterization! He is a well spring of patience, and definitely not a pushover. The way he conducts himself is quite believable.

Yep that was awesome. Can't wait for the next one.

8130162

Your wish is granted. :yay:

Holy... All because they didn't know how to how to block their sweat

Well, this was sad as fuck... More chapters :3? Want to see just how bad (or good) this gets.

Not holding this against the sisters really. Especially considering what their sweat does and that no one knew how to stop it until now.

Well, I think the story started pretty good. You kept me really interested through the second chapter and I loved the third one, especially compared to your usual "I understand why you attacked me" bullshit doormat human you always get.

But now, with the forth chapter, you just get better and got my fav and like.

Celestia has wronged the human race, time to pull a Dan vs.

CELESTIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
