This story is a sequel to Blood Poisoned

It has been two months since Prince Blueblood had become the first male royal to come out as gay. During that time, his aunts noticed that although he has finally opened up about his sexuality, he is still single and hasn't made any attempt to seek out any stallions. Determining to help along with the assistance to Princess Cadance, they organized a masquerade ball for him to mingle among the crowd in hopes of finding a potential suitor.

During the ball, the Prince steps out of the room and hears piano music being played. He finds a lone stallion at the keyboard. Intrigued, he goes up to meet this masked stallion and to find out why he's alone.

This looks promising. I am looking forward in seeing more of this soon.

As the 'God of Gay Comedy,' I'm intrigued. Consider me piqued for what's to come...

I will keep an eye on this.

I like Blueblood's personality. He has the right combination of diplomatic tiredness of his namesake that explains why he acted like he did in the show on top of a fair amount of sass that also plays well into how the show portrayed him. If anything my complaint is that it's a little fast paced. It suffers a bit from talking head syndrome where everypony sort of just talks and we don't get much scenery or really characterization derived from it. There's no real moment to slow down and explain the thoughts, only talk them. No talk of Blueblood thinking over the decision or how he feels aside from dialogue, and the POV of the story is a bit confusing. I do like the setup, though, as it's something I'm not brave enough to do. I'm interested to see where it goes, though.

8007930 So in a nutshell, slow down the pacing for scenery and thoughts, and keep main focus on Blueblood. Got it.

I'm going to toss in my two cents regarding the description format, I feel the big warning is unneeded and would be more fitting to have it at the bottom. More so when it's an warning about the sexuality, because after so many years I don't think it'll come as a shock to anyone reading MLP fanfic involving pairings who are homosexual. It's just a given at this point. Anyways to give my opinion on the story it does look good.

8010124 Call it a force of habit everything I write a story when it involves m/m themes. It gives those who are coming in a pretty good idea what they're in for upfront.

I love this. added it to my favs ^_^

Plot twist: It's Shining Armor trying to subtly get some gay action without his wife knowing. :rainbowwild:

I kid, I kid. This really is a nice chapter though. The music is extremely well-chosen, and the atmosphere works immensely well. I could see this being a great introduction to a deserving OTP.

I like this chapter a lot more than the first, and I hope that doesn't sound like a backhanded compliment. It feels a lot more stressed about the characters, as in you really got how most of them come off. Blueblood doing something like styling his outfit over something classic and making it expensive as well is just fantastic. I like how you made Braeburn babble, too, because it was a good touch. It seems a like a good setup to have Blueblood lured by classical music, in my opinion.

I recognized a couple of the stallions there. If this mysterious stranger is who I think it is, thanks to the character tags, this is becoming a popular ship.

Cadance you little peep! :rainbowlaugh:

I will say though, this chapter gave a lot of nice progression and insight on these two characters. The chemistry between them feels real, and I can totally see this becoming something much more than just Twenty Questions in the near future.

I think the best way to sum up one of your fics is always "come for the gay stallions, stay for the excellent music choices for setting the scene." The same applies to this one, I'm glad to say, :pinkiehappy:

If this mystery stallion is who I think it is, I can't wait to see Rarity's reaction.:rainbowlaugh:

When Blueblood arrives back at the castle, he's gonna find Celestia and Luna sitting on a couch with a big bowl of popcorn between them.

"Soooo.... what's he like?~"

I will withhold comments and wait for the grilling/teasing to commence.

I assume beyond masks they cover cutiemarks as well. Not sure how well that would work when the mane, tail, pelt and type are still visable.

and I could toss in a month’s vacation to the Bahamares,” she smirked as she added, “with Twilight.”

Does Twilight know that both princesses want her?:twilightoops:

Do you know how to contact people on derpibooru?

I have a feeling Fancy Pants is gonna get some attention in the tabloids soon. He might be a royal consort, but I could see some other terms being thrown around like "Royal Daddy."

OOH! Or a newspaper headline that reads "There's A Prince In Fancy's Pants!"

Right now, I'm just shaking my head at Celestia. And I know Luna and Cadance are going to be just as bad.

8039323
Luna: "Greetings, consort Fancy Pants! Are you enjoying your erotic dream about my nephew?"
Fancy Pants: "AAAHHHHH!! Princess Luna, why are you in here?!"
Luna: "May I provide you with anything? Perhaps Blueblood in a striking outfit, or a more enticing scenario? I can also suggest some fetishes he enjoys~"
Fancy Pants: "GET OUT!!!"

Eh, it could've been worse. At least they weren't sharing a foot-long hot dog.

I should've known you were gonna incorporate my comments into your story. You cheeky little devil, you. :rainbowwild:

exited form his chambers

Fleur being Fancypants body guard is awesome.

If Mr. Glass sparkles, I'm gonna be upset.

8055471 Don't worry, he's diffidently not a vampire.

I was forced to divorce my last oh so caring and loving husband because he beaten the living crap out of me.

Ouch. I had a feeling something like that was coming after the end of last chapter, but I really didn't expect it to escalate so soon. Goddamn- poor Fancy. :fluttercry:

8075068

Yeah, tell me about it. Despite it being clichèd (and speaking from someone who used the trope before), I was expecting the Father to be the culprit. But still, I'm hopeful this'll move their relation forward in a more positive light.

Also, I gotta ask, what do ponies need gasoline for? :rainbowhuh: It doesn't seem like they have a lot of gas-powered tools or vehicles in Equestria.

8075068
8075175 "Oh no, it seems that I have displeased the gods!"

*Dials up the Divinity Service Hotline.*

"Hey there Jess, it's me! Do you guys have any virgins around to sacrifice - particularly male ones?... What do you mean 'no'! How can you guys possibly ran out of stalk on those? It isn't everyday that you displeased the God of Gay Comedy... The goddess used them up? Why would... oh... oh I see... yeah... yeah... So how long will it take ya to get some more...? I can't wait that long!... Well I've displeased him so what am I to do in the meantime?...

"What's it over? Well I've introduced something in a story apparently has done before while I myself haven't explored... Fancy's husband had beaten him... Yes, he did... Uh-huh... uh-huh... Of course I'm going to have to bring it up, it's in the next chapter for cr- what?... Yes, this is going to help bring him and his date become closer as a couple. Huh?... Prince Blueblood... Yeah, yeah, I know, he's not the best guy that you would ship, but hey, if Storm Butt found a way then maybe I could... Yes I know he's the God of Gay Drama at what he does, but this a gift to him... He hasn't say anything yet...

"What else? Well I've also displeased the gods for bring up the existence of gasoline... What for? Originally for Fancy to kill himself with it and a box of matches and before you panic, it was meant to be part of a dream... Well when I think of somebody killing themselves by fire, I would think of a gallon of gas and some matches... Yes, I know that they don't have a lot of machines that run on the stuff but then again, there was that on time-travel episode in which they did show the Film-Flam Brothers using tractors that I'm certain that doesn't run on magic... Yes I know it's technically part of an alternative timeline... Well how do you know they don't use it? That stuff isn't just used for machines ya know... Ah great, what else would you have suggested to use as a replacement when you guys don't have the sacrifices? Vodka? But there's already bottles straying around in the dream how would that make it any different then having a- huh?... Sorry Jess, I tend to forget that I'm writing fiction too...

"So what do ya want me to do in the meantime?... Okay... Never mind about the order, just let me know when you guys get more, okay... Thanks, bye."

*Turns back to the gods.*

I'll get to work on the next chapter your Holiness.

My ex-spouse had one of two personalities: either ‘I love you’ or ‘DIE YOU BLOODY BASTARD!!

But remember, my spouse was shorter and had a smaller body then I, so when they came and I told them what happened, they took my statement down like I was a drunk U.F.O. abductee.

Oh boy. Both of these just really hit close to home. People don't seem to understand that when you get hurt by an ex who's smaller and weaker than you, you usually don't want to tell anyone, because, at best, they won't believe you, and at worst, they'll probably laugh at you. Or if you have an ex who flip-flops back and forth between perfectly loving and completely nutso in the blink of an eye.

Excellent work as always, Cracked.

You know what would be fun? A chapter from fancy's perspective.
Outer fancy: "Oh, really now? You want to go on another date? Of course, I'd be delighted."
Inner fancy: *high pitched fanboy squeals*

Oh you god damn body guard Gay Blocker >///<
Thanks Dad

Ok story, but I think having Fancy Pants' background be an amalgamation of Christopher Titus bits really takes away from the story. One or two smaller ones would have been ok, but having massive parts of a characters tragic back story be from a comedy sketch just didn't feel right.

8102057 Order up! One massive rewrite with removing good chunks of Titus taken out. Improvise new background for Fancy with at least two or three days worth of restructuring the story.

8102057 Okay, before I start rewriting this chapter, may I ask if you would rather want the bits about Fancy's past be replaced more with Blueblood's?
