Interesting. While others may think that is a cliched idea, I think that if you perhaps tweaked the description a little or would help you greatly. A tip, if I may. If you want to get more attention join groups and add your story to the revel ant folders. It's probably more effective than being in the new lists section on the front page.
As for the cover art. I'm not saying it's bad, but Pony OC creator has been used so much for less than deserving stories that its gained a nasty reputation. Go to google images and search 'MLP epic pony art' and you'll see what the greatest artists of the fandom has to offer.

I'll try finding groups to add it to, and I'll probably look for a commissioner to make a better cover, or try making one myself.
As a side note, if you find an appropriate group, don't be afraid to put this story in.

I just added your story to 2 groups, which can be seen if you scroll down on the far right. To find more groups you can go to here to search/browse for them. For the art, you don't necessarily have to commission anything. There are truckloads of high quality art already out there, and you don't even need the main character in the art. Maybe just the picture of a gloomy ponyville or something will suffice to get the interests of potential readers.
As for the description, I'm mostly talking about the short description you have. The 7th Element Bearer bit may be off putting to some. Maybe right a simple sentence describing what might happen in the story? Or the circumstances of the arrival of this new element bearer? Of course, you're the author so naturally all of these are just suggestions.

I did it becasue it was April Fool's and red is a childish color. It didn't hurt that I was making fun of Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash Simultaneously after watching only five episodes.
I believe the exact quote was of the red and black pegasus in question was:
