I like it.
And yes, aren't we all liars, in a way?
Because making up a story isn't telling the truth because, well, unless the story is a true story, then all we are doing is lying by faking everything.
...so technically YOU are a liar for writing this as well.

7915657 true.

i like to think fiction is the truth inside the lie.

if that makes any sense.

...because it is a true lie...

My perspective on life has just changed.

IS GOOD!!! (Translation)
I could give some spew about my beliefs on the matter of lies and fiction but the "truth" of the matter is that both sides have valid point and I disagree and respect some because I am biased just like every person.
But that is besides the real point of this comment, this story is good and I have read many tales of this young dragon and I know of the old troops and runabouts almost to well but this story has interested me in a very special spot and I truly hope you decide to continue this, and I simply can't wait for more.

Sincerely a fool

7916048 that's a relief to hear.

I see you're writing based on one of your sayings...

This will be interesting!

You are a mendacious deciever. It is as if someone has enacted conflagration upon your trousers.

So far this appears to be more about why Spike would do this rather than just about him lying... and it starts with Spike not knowing what to do with himself when he's alone. Interesting.

7916502 is that a quote from something?

don't worry, the tale gets progressively bizzare with spike actually having character in this one.

So, is this based on Catherine? I've never played the game personally. I might have to if it's as good as this story.

It's an overly verbose and formal version of a popular saying. I derived it myself but it's hardly original.

If I were to be gauche I guess I would say "Liar, liar, pants on fire."

In response to the writers are liars thing, mostly.

I'm divided on whether I should be telling you your original writing is fine, and agreeing with less gusto than you that making Spike more distinct is usually pretty good, and it's easy to fall into a protagonist that is still compelling but isn't very distinct.

7916550 not based off the game, though i recommend you play it.

i post the song that i write to so the reader can get into the same state of mind, plus, the green font looks coooools

Blasphemy!!!

Thief monkey!:flutterrage: I was saying this before it was cool! What about that cover!?

I call bullshit of the highest order! Bring me the admin.

I call bullshit of the highest order! Bring me the admin.

7917211 If I show the cover now, everyone would know who the voice on the other end is.

Don't worry, in a few chapters, it'll be put up

7917737 nah bebe, I'm just being a cock dock. U do u.:ajsmug:

Interesting. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.:moustache:

Phones seem a little bit out of place in the story. I mean, there's been at least one canonical appearance of an old rotary phone, and it fits in well with the schizo-tech of Equestria, but it feels a little off to have one in the library.

That said, I'm curious about the mention of 'It could have been someone with news of how my last book was doing.' I'm guessing Spike is an aspiring author who already has published at least one book. Probably gets practice with his letters.

they’re aren’t too many dragons serving Twilight with the name of Spike

There, not they're

Yep, looks like Spike was an aspiring writer. The prose seems a little bit purple here, but given Spike is narrating it in parts, I suppose it fits twice over: both because the prose is from someone who's purple :moustache: , but also because Spike strikes me as the type to lean towards flowery language and pseudo-philosophical tangents.

Of course, I think Twilight's beginning to realise the Mane 6 were her friends, not her and Spike's friends.

Well, good sir, you had my attention. Now you have my interest.
