(Based off the image I took for the cover art, which is a box of Asian pears, AKA ApplePears).

Following a long day of applebucking, Applejack notices a tree that seems a bit... off.

A quick taste-test later, and she realizes that it's a pear tree.

This escalated peary quickly.

Someone should make a mod for applepears.

Asian Pears are delicious.

Crisp texture and taste of apples, sweet refreshing watery goodness of pears.

APPLEPEARS. :rainbowwild:

I have two boxes of them in my kitchen. My great aunt grows them in her backyard. :pinkiehappy:

(And yes, I know that they're asian pears. I like using the name ApplePears though.)

"ApplePears"? Well now I want to try one. Does anybody know where I can buy one?

7511899 Many asian markets sell nice, big ones. The ones in the pic I took with my phone are small ones my great aunt grows.

7511899 (&/or for those who do not know about Asian pears)...

1. Ya Pear (or "Chinese White Pear")... This is the Asian pear depicted by the cover image for the fan-fiction (even though most Ya Pears are not actually bleach-white). The Ya Pear is crisp but very light in eating-texture, and the juicier of the two cultivars. If you want something that is light, refreshing, and (generally) easy to eat, then the Ya Pear for you.

2. Nashi Pear (or "Sand Pear")... Because its outer skin has a "sandy" texture to the touch (however, the outer skin is completely edible). If you prefer a heartier cultivar, the Nashi Pear has firmer texture to its bite. If you want an Asian pear that is more "apple-like" for a heartier and fuller eating, then the Nashi Pear is the route to go.

3. As TheMajorTechie pointed out, you can purchase Asian pears at (big surprise) most Asian food/fruit markets. However, you can also generally find them at most independent/ethnic food/fruit markets as well. It is the "big name" (assuming American &/or European) food/fruit market franchises that generally do not carry Asian pears regularly.

For example, I can purchase Asian pears from the local independent, ethnic-Greek, food/fruit market which I live close to. Of course, I also live near an Asian food/fruit market as well, so I more often purchase my Asian pears there. I do not go to Jewel-Osco or Mariano's or Wal Mart (Grocery) or other major grocery franchise expecting to find Asian Pears.

We grew sand pears growing up, and they were amazing. So crisp and juicy, I hardcore recommend them if you see one.
And we always called them pearapples, strangely enough!

no, aj will never like pears, i denounce the end of this fic!!! but not the rest, its a good fic

Well, I guess that happened.

I came to this story when I was scrolling through your list because now that "The Perfect Pear" has been released, this could essentially now be Applejack meeting her mother in pear tree form. Take what you will from that. :trixieshiftright:
