Good premise, but I am so sick and tired of this "ponies speaking in an alien language that humans can't understand" cliche that so many fanfics keep using. Let me make this clear to you all: Ponies. Are. Not. Aliens. They do not speak in gibberish, extra-terrestrial languages, because they speak English in the show. Also, aliens are generally ugly, while ponies are cute.
So everyone, stop writing ponies as aliens!
Other than that, good story.

Cute and interesting so far. Not too much to comment on considering there's just two chapters, but what is here is interesting and I'd like to see where you take it.
7580318 Actually, it's more believable that a normal human wouldn't be able to understand the ponies. Just because they speak English in the show, doesn't mean that they HAVE to in a real situation. Remember, most entertainment, especially children's entertainment, will have all the characters speak a single native language to make it easier to understand, rather than make the whole thing confusing and unintelligible. And there have been many things that have shown aliens as appearing as normal humans in their own natural state, despite biological differences, or just plain beautiful. Doctor Who is one such example. He looks like a normal person, but as a Time Lord, he has two hearts. Not a visual difference, but still very notable. Additionally, the fact that we haven't encountered an intelligent, extra-terrestrial species, means we can't definitively saw that they are or aren't ugly. People who visit other countries are also called aliens, keep in mind.

Aliens don't have to be ugly or weird looking, the only reason that is often the case is presumably a different evolutionary path. Which come to think of it, is an even bigger reason to have ponies speaking a different language. The shape of a pony mouth, their nose, and the length of their throat, ponies speaking a different language becomes quite expected. The fact that they speak English is due to it being fiction, teaching an audience an entirely new language isn't the goal of the show. That's why they translate it to different languages in other countries.
