That's cool, you are free to like whatever you like, and hate whatever you don't.

Sequel when it's two years later. :trollestia:

7451096 How dare you ever say you don't like LGBT themed fics! You're a bigot and those downvotes will show you where your place is bigot!!!.............

Nah, unlike others, I know the difference from not like to hate. Upvote for you good sir.

Awww. I really liked this. It was cute.
GAH. I love Twidance ;-;

But lesbian/homosexual ships aren't my cup of tea, nor will they ever be.

Wat.

You are in a fandom where 85% of the shipping is lesbians.

What is this.

I can't fucking even.

7451096
Won't argue with an opinion, since we're entitled with them. However, I will still point out that I find that odd. I mean, what exactly makes straight ships your 'cup of tea'? Ponies who find love, are just that. Male, Female. All the same.

Just curious, s'all.

7451138
You've forced me to point out how absurdly cute your profile picture is, and I in fact did 'd'aww'.

7451096 Your entitled to your opinion, I was honestly a bit turned off when I first saw that most shipping in this fandom were female x female but these days I don't have a problem with them or same sex relationships in general. You are entitled to your opinion so as long as you don't hate on anyone, which you aren't, your opinion is fine. Sorry that so many people jump on the "HOW DARE YOU NOT LIKE IT!" bandwagon.

Twidance is my least favorite ship, but the story is cute but awkward. Praise the Sunlight!

Nice Story

Nau mah head is jutting around like an erratic jet-fighter, coming up with ideas how that story would continue. Seeing your perspective of it Author, would be nice.

7451096 It's fine. You just like whatever you like, no matter what crap some other people give you.

I think my only real issue here is the age thing. Not in that I think the age difference is a problem, but in that I'm not sure where the idea of her being sixteen is coming from. The M6's counterparts are all depicted as being in the same grade (and general age range) as Sunset. In the first film, we see that Sunset has already won three Fall Formals prior to the one she's competing for in the movie. Unless CHS inexplicably holds multiple Fall Formals each year, then that would mean she's in her senior year. You don't tend to see many seniors who are 16. I guess you could argue that she skipped some grades, but given that she has the same general build as the older teens (as opposed to the noticeably different designs used for the younger teens), I can't see her being several years younger than the rest of the.

It hardly breaks the story or anything, but I'll admit that it threw me a bit when I first read it. Aside from that, though, it was well written, had nice characterization, and a cute pairing. Definitely a fun read.

I honestly don't know why there are so few twidance ficus out there. Thanks for adding one more though, it was pretty good.

Interesting, and also quite the change from canon. I'm glad that this encounter didn't get too involved; it would indeed have been scandalous. Good job.

7451468 I'm really not sure where the confusion is coming from. It's actually quite a simple concept to understand: If he doesn't like the ships that make up "85%" of shipping, then he is presumably interested in the other 15%. It's kind of like a Marvel fan hearing a DC fan say they don't really like Marvel films, and saying "What? How can you not like Marvel films? They make up like 70% of the superhero movies out there!" The answer is simply that if they like some superhero movies, but not that 70%, then the ones they like are the among the other 30%.

Now, if you had been confused by the fact that - despite not caring much for lesbian pairings - he still chose to read a story with only two character tags (both of which were female), with the romance tag, and with a picture of the two characters in question hugging...

7451096

While your opinion is fine, there's places to express "I don't like gay relationships" other than on a story about gay relationships. Seems a bit unnecessary, and usually around here it's trolls who do that trying to start trouble. Careful not to get mistaken for one of them.

7452014

A: I'm like 90% sure Shocks was making a joke at the expense of the people who lose their minds when someone expresses this opinion.

B: All the same he (that guy up there, not Shocks) really shouldn't voice that particular opinion on this sort of story. I've never understood why people feel the need to do that. I don't go to Luna or Spike-centric stories and dump on them as characters in the comments. If I did that I'd be thrown under a bus, and there wouldn't be people trying to be understanding at all like they are with this guy. "Why'd you read it then, asshole?" would be about the usual response. How do I know? While I don't do it anymore, I did at one point! Hell, I even got death threats for saying I don't like Spike.

So really, your post there is kinda... premature.

I love Twidance. There isn't enough of it in the world.

This story is also open ended. :raritywink:

7452014
At first, I really had no idea it was a shipping story until I stopped at a certain part and looked back up. Then for some unknown reason, I decided to continue reading. Plus, I think it's three Character Tags: Twilight Sparkle, Cadence, and Twilight Velvet.

7452126
Very well then, I'll tread carefully then. :coolphoto:

7451924
Thanks.

7451468
*Shrugs* I just really like some of the stories that're posted on this site, so I decided to jump in, fully aware that a considerable amount of them are lesbian/gay stories.

7452143

A: Unless I'm already familiar with the user, I always assume those posts are legit due to the number of times I have seen that same type of response posted in complete seriousness.

B: Hence the second part of my post where I pointed out exactly the same thing.

Sequel? Epilogue?.

Something More Please :fluttershysad:

That is Too Open Final. :raritydespair:

Thank you for reading and commenting. I actually haven't give much thought to a sequel. I'll try to think of something, BUT, no promises that there will be a continuation to this.

I thought about making Twilight 17 years old, bu changed my mind before uploading this.
So yes, she skipped grades.

Well, this was certainly a variation of their relationship I never expected to see, and done so well too...:pinkiegasp:

7451096 And you read it why?

7452542 Thought it was about tackling Twilight and Cadence's relationship as friends. Though really I didn't really see the romance tag so I was caught completely off-guard. :twilightblush:

Poor shining, he chose the worst possible day to try and get cadence on a date. Well Twilight won the race for Cadences heart.

Typically I don't like Twidance since it usually requires adultery on Cadance's part (and I like Shiningdance) but this removed that possibility due to the EqG setting. I quite enjoyed this.

Good job I now ship Twidance. :pinkiehappy:

Technically, we've seen that Sunset has won three dances, and we know they also do a Spring Fling. Ergo, it's reasonable to assume one of those three was said Fling, and there could also be other seasonal dances. In fact, the crown of every portrait was different, and one had a flower (an odd choice for fall, not for spring). So while the common consensus seems is that they're seniors, there's no direct evidence.

Besides, if anyone skipped grades, it's Twilight. I'll give you that the younger teens have a different build than the older ones, but even if we count the others as seniors, then they would be 17-18. At 16 she'd be pretty close to that. No reason to assume she'd look more like the CMC freshman, who would be 14-15. And falling somewhere in between? That's for series that give a damn about having differently shaped character models :ajbemused:

And apparently I couldn't limit myself to using my own fics to debate horses and horse themed people with you

7453518 Maybe CHS works like both a Jr. High School and a Standard High School, in that sometimes 7th and 8th graders can also participate in a high school along with 9th-12th graders. Who knows?

Fair enough.

And yet they do it for Fluttershy every time we get a flashback to her and Rainbow in flight school. Seriously, animation team, you've clearly shown us that you can do it, so why do you adamantly refuse to? Do you actively enjoy screwing with us, or is it just a laziness thing like with reusing the Tirek animation in The Cutie Re-Mark?

And apparently I couldn't limit myself to using my own fics to debate horses and horse themed people with you

OMG STOP FOLLOWING ME U CREEPER!1!!1!!!!

Wow, this was one emotional story. I'm sure Twilight will hear about Cadance rejecting Shining. I'd love to see a sequel where Twilight asks Cadance if it was because of her. Twilight could goo on to encourage her to accept Shining. This could take place a few days or weeks later when Twilight, having been at CHS for a little while, has come to realize that there are more fish in the sea so to speak. Just a thought.

7453133
More often it's due to immortality. Shining dies, causing Cadance and Twilight to realize their shared grief. They spend extra time together afterwords, and eventually hook up. After all, just because Cadance is immortal doesn't mean she deserves to not love anymore.

EDIT: I changed this comment to prevent future puzzlement.

I really want a sequel to this, though I don't see it happening. Damn enjoyable, in any case. Very well done.

See, this is why ships like TwiDance and TwiLestia are so great.

You get some pretty neat social conflict, and you don't even have to stoop to overused tropes like will they/won't they or gayngst as the catalyst.

I'm glad that you played this pretty seriously. Twilight is forced to wait at an age where two years feels like an absolute life-time, and Cadance has to choose between shooting down a man she likes and respects, possibly at the cost of her own happiness, or saying yes and breaking Twilight's heart. Most people like happy endings, but particularly by having this in the EqG world, which more closely mirrors our own, a really complicated and somewhat melancholy ending is much more realistic and easier to be invested in.

It left me rooting for Cadance and Twilight to find happiness, be that sometime in the next two years, or maybe in that faraway date.

Good stuff.

7454541

Well that's a shitty thing to do!
"Hey Twilight your brother is dead let's make out"

This is oneshot has such a great concept. I thing that, since Twi being gay didn't really affect anything, after telling Cadance, she shouldn't have had to come out to her mom. That didn't add to the story. I kinda feel like it detracted from it.

Probably something you're going to want to work on is your narration. In the beginning, you start a sentence with "Well," which isn't a good way to start a sentence of that sort. It's very casual and while narration doesn't have to be really formal, it shouldn't be that casual. That, along with a bit more variation on sentence length, will go a long way to making you a much stronger writer.

Your concept was wonderful, I would read a novel lenght story dealing with this. The idea had honestly never crossed my mind even though I ship pony twidance, and looking through your other stories, you've got the ideas and the basics of writing down. You just need to fine tune your skills a bit and you'll be superb. Good job and keep writing.

7456295 Thank you for the comment.
I originally had planned for the story to have a moment where Cadance and Velvet speak with each other about what had happened with Twi, with that, the mother-daughter talk would had been more relevant, but I changed it while writting and was too lazy to change the talk. :twilightsheepish:

Yeah, my writting is casual, and it is certainly something that I would like to improve, but it is hard. English is my second language, so I usually go with the most simple words when writing something because that's the only word that pops up in my head when writing.

A novel lenght story of this. I would like to read it, but I'm just a filthy casual that writes whenever there's time, so I don't think I'll be the one writing it. I do hope that I inspired someone to do something like that.:pinkiesad2:

7456410 If English isn't your native language then I'd say you're already doing a lot better than most native English speakers, honestly. The story was pretty good. Can I ask what your native language is?

7456487 Oh, cool. See, I've tried to learn Spanish three times and I just fail every time. Languages are so cool though.

7456506 It's always good to know more than one language. I'm thankful I learned english. If I hadn't, I wouldn't be able to read stories here or watch some of the good shows from other countries.

That's not what I meant. Just because someone is immortal doesn't mean they deserve to live an eternity without someone to love. What characters are better than Cadance and Twilight to prove that point?

If you have the time, read this to fully understand what I mean. It also helps that that story is a really nice read.

I don't know whether or not you should make a sequel or epilogue to this, but you know what? I liked this a lot. This is a pairing that needs more love, and this was very tasteful.

Where is the artwork from?
