Sequel story to Falconers and the Tomb of Aminus

I had a dream when I was just a foal and in this dream I saw one great burning fire that stood as a beacon in the land of ash that surrounded it. There were two others however but a great darkness enveloped one causing it to extinguish giving way to ashes without so much an ember to emerge and rekindle its brilliance. The second fire began to wither away and burn softer and darker as time passed by.

However embers from this dying flame emerged and they held a peace of the fire within themselves in hopes of spreading it abroad before the dying flame withered away completely. For many days and many nights these embers traveled across the land of ash towards the beacon whose brightness shown throughout the darkness but in its brilliance it became blinded to the lesser dying flame and its embers.

However the embers of the dying flame had hope and they sought help from the greater flame. Unfortunately they were rejected and in this the greater flame spate out embers liken to the embers of the dying flame however much dimmer and without hope. The embers of the dying flame however shared what little fire they had in hopes of rekindling the fire within them. They then retreated to the surrounding lands hiding and watching as the greater flame burned in all its isolated glory.

Time and time again they would steal pieces of the great flame and refine it to there liking. Again and again the embers did this and when they had sufficient fire they returned to the dying flame in hopes of extending its life. When they returned the fires life was extended and from it emerged embers with new found hope, that held their own pieces of the fire and again they traveled through the the land of ash to return and retrieve fire from the greater flame.

However the greater flame found out about this thieving and unleashed its own embers to defend against the embers of the dying flame. Both factions burned equally bright but the embers of the greater flame, though very few in numbers, were equipped with superior devices of war which they unleashed against the children of the dying flame.

They again did not give up as the embers of the dying flame stole what they could even in the face of extinguishment and returned home helping the fire burn brighter and brighter, longer and longer, but never quite as bright or brilliant as the flame they stole from.

Then when it looked as if the dying flame might actually succeed its own death one ember with a fire that burned far brighter than any child of the great flame before braved the land of ash and smothered what little the dying flame had left.

As this foreign ember retreated back to the fire the now decayed flame began to once again wither away and no amount of stole fire could bring it back from its own extinction. However before the fire faded completely it spat out legions of embers. Each one equipped with the dying fire of its nation but not just the singular flame for from within themselves they made fire which was fuelled by the hatred they held against the greater flame and its brightness.

As one their fire burned brighter than the flame that had been extinguished days before, and as one they marched across the land of ash towards that of the greater flame. However they did not come with the intention of stealing, but with the intention of making it liken to themselves, and the brilliant fire in all its glory couldn’t summon the embers to defend itself because unlike Istudious, Noriphmy had not the ambition.
